Ones you really, really don want.

I don’t want to take two parcels to the local Hermes drop off. Rude staff there
Need to clear the garden a bit. It’s cold and I don’t like gardening which is why I have pots
Doing dinner for later
General vac round but don’t mind that so much!

All trivial I know,
Any one else?

tanith Mon 31-Jan-22 11:54:49

My bird bath has blown over but my excuse is its still windy ?

Lincslass Mon 31-Jan-22 11:55:02

Cleaning the bathroom.

MayBeMaw Mon 31-Jan-22 11:56:06

Why don’t you use the Hermes collect service? Not a lot extra and saves you driving/parking/rude staff etc. I just leave my things tucked in by the side of my door and the courier always takes them on the day I have booked.

I never want to do any chores any day!

Luckygirl3 Mon 31-Jan-22 12:12:50

Where to start?! But I have started to file huge quantities of sheet music - I have been putting this off for ages. It is a mammoth task.

I've been trying to hang the washing out for 3 hours now.
But a] The sky looks like it might rain soon.
b] I'm too lazy and my back hurts.

We do that maw sometimes they even turn up. When they don't we go to a shop that takes Hermes.

Redhead56 Mon 31-Jan-22 12:37:55

I over stretched changing beds I have work to do in the garden. But will put it off because my back hurts and it’s too windy.

Cabbie21 Mon 31-Jan-22 13:02:44

Luckygirl, I have done some sheet music filing this morning, but can I get my financial paperwork filed? No way. I have a huge pile. At least I know what is there and no payments are overdue.

Nannagarra Mon 31-Jan-22 13:13:53

Luckygirl13 can I distract from your tasks with Byrdle - Wordle for people interested in choral music?
???

Decide what to have and cook yet another meal! I’m sick to death of cooking for myself. Partly I suppose because there’s not much happening in between.

Go to the tip with b
the garden rubbish. The storm brought down lots of small branches and twigs do I spent a couple of hours raking and tidying yesterday. Its too woody for the compost and too much for our brown bin.The bags are by the car and I really should load up and go whilst it's still fine-heavy rain and strong winds tomorrow. But I'm only just warming through from a dog walk and have decided to have a coffee and catch up on some TV instead.

Stuffing the duvet back into its cover. Thought I'd got it down to a tee by rolling it up and letting it unroll inside the case, but it got stuck half way down. Back to square one!

Juliet27 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:11:36

How about a coverless washable duvet. There are a number of suppliers providing them.

AGAA4 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:16:52

I had to drag myself out to the dentist in the wind and rain earlier. I was going to change the bed this afternoon but will put it off till tomorrow.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:17:02

I hate housework but must vacuum today as I can shamefully see cobwebs in the corners and I expect a visitor tomorrow.

Audun Mon 31-Jan-22 14:21:15

Clearing the drain. No. Just no.

Mummer Mon 31-Jan-22 14:21:29

Started to clean out the train room! Slow and very possible I'll abandon shortly.....

Kate1949 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:23:12

I didn't want to go for a walk but I went. Not very far but at least I got a couple of thousand steps in. It was too cold and windy to do more.

Oldnproud Mon 31-Jan-22 14:30:46

Emptying the vac.

I wouldn't mind, but the dust doesn't simply drop out into the bin when I release the catch, as per the instructions. Instead, it collects at one side and lodges there, so has to be either poked out, or the whole unit dismantled as if doing a major empty and filter cleaning.

Still, I've done it now.

grandtanteJE65 Mon 31-Jan-22 14:34:53

I've finished them and am reading gransnet, said she, while giving her halo a rub.

They entailed checking the direct debit and our current accounts, hoovering the downstairs rooms and airing the house, filling up the log basket and emptying the ash pan from the wood burner and making bread, plus ordering a load of logs.

I ought to go round the garden picking up about a ton of waste paper that I am quite sure yesterday's extreme storm has left all over the place.

DH has bent the metal roofing sheet the worked loose on the garage back into place and weighed it down, as well as doing the shopping, and upending the bins again, so yes, I should done a hefty layer of warm clothes and collect rubbish in the garden.
