Not fit to be prime minister

Compared to many people my disappointments during lockdown were not too bad.
Missing my golden wedding celebrations, not holding my new grandchild until he was nearly six months old. Not being able to have the other grandchildren to stay - they all live some distance away, not being able to attend a close friend’s funeral.
I, like most other UK citizens, stuck to the rules.
Boris and his cronies did not. They held drinks events and parties for pathetic, unacceptable reasons. How can they ever expect the electorate to respect them or their laws. How dare they think they still have a mandate to rule us?

I want him to stay, I admire how he dealt with Covid, despite the parties, I like how he is dealing with Ukraine, that far exceeds what others offer. No I think he’s made mistakes, but people like him, he’s affable and he’s an excellent strategist and motivator.Despite his somewhat thrown together appearance, he is always clean and polite and knows how to put people at their ease. Keir wines and has no charisma, just a suit, a good legal mind, he is excellent at law and technicalities, would want him to fight my side in a courtroom, nice man to have next door..He doesn’t inspire or motivate and has no ideas of his own. I thought John Major was uninspiring, a grey man. You don’t have to be perfect at everything, Look at Churchill and how he treated the miners, my father never forgave him, he acknowledged he bought us through the war and my father was active throughout it in the RAF., All Prime ministers or heads of state have some scandal going on, look at our royal family. Perfection is not possible.

Ah well, at least he's clean. confused

Except in that picture posted yesterday of course.

I don’t personally know anyone who didn’t follow the rules and lives were made miserable by doing so. We had it easy compared to many, but couldn’t see and support our daughter who gave birth early by C section and had to look after a poorly baby in isolation with none of the professional and family help she should have had. So many new parents in this position. And meanwhile the leaders of this country were partying and mocking us all. Johnson is a disgrace and needs to go.

As for Fabricant - how far removed from reality would you have to be to think that school staff rooms have a bar in the corner?

Whitewavemark2

Led by Donkeys has done another excellent video

Bizarrely I didn’t find it funny just so very very sad at what has happened.

Please anyone who can put a link up

Thank you

I hope this link works. Well worth a watch.

We need to realise the message that we are now sending to our children if he is allowed to stay
It's OK to lie and cheat to get what we want and there are no consequences if we are caught out.
Not good

Fabricant. I can’t take anyone seriously who wears a Boris Johnson wig! Who actually voted for that very strange man? Back to Johnson - do some posters really think he ‘did’ Brexit? That disaster is causing so many problems and will continue to do so.

Michael Rosen ????
@MichaelRosenYes

Children, the man on the TV is our Prime Minister. He leads us. The way it works is that we have checks and balances to make sure he behaves properly. And if he doesn't? He's in trouble. No, he's not in trouble. Does that mean he behaves properly? I..er..he..er..he...it's...er...

Curlywhirly Wed 13-Apr-22 08:44:10

Thanks grannywanny - and as Ted would say: 'Mother of God' indeed ? Johnson must be completely without shame. The list of his immoral decisions is breathtaking. I don't know how he has the face to appear in public and how ANY Conservatives can still support him is just beyond belief.

Oldnproud Wed 13-Apr-22 08:44:55

Either Boris is a blatant liar, or he is incapable of recognising even simple scenarios (law-breaking parties are just the thin edge of that wedge) for what they are.

Either of those things makes him a totally unsuitable person to be leading a country.

mokryna Wed 13-Apr-22 08:49:55

Thank you grannywanny.

Esspee Wed 13-Apr-22 08:51:03

The parties are just a tiny part of his abuse of the high office he holds.
He must go.

HettyBetty Wed 13-Apr-22 08:59:17

A neighbour, an ICU nurse, sat at the bedsides of dying Covid patients, holding their hands because their relatives couldn't be there.

What she has to say about Mr Johnson is not repeatable.

Rubbish about teachers drinking at school in recent years. In my first job the head presented us with one glass if sherry at the end of term 1974) as a thank you. We used to go for pub lunch every Friday & leave head alone in school . 80’s/90’s last day of term- couple of drinks in the staff room once kids had gone. Never during day!! Would have been hauled in front of head. One or two end of term drinks when kids had gone. After that a few younger staff went to a pub….Others just went home! Did know a few who drank too much in their private life- stresses of job ! Same as any other profession

Whitewavemark2 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:10:46

He is not going to level up.

He is not going to deal with the cost of living crises

He is not going to deal with Brexit

He is not going to deal with law and order - how can he when he has a criminal record gained whilst being the prime minister

He is not going to deal with the NHS

He is not going to tell the truth.

Rosalyn69 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:12:21

I can’t forgive him for lying. Barefaced lying. Not fit for office.

Luckygirl3 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:17:01

He never was fit to be prime minister.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:17:28

I have just checked whitewavemark2 and these FPNs do not go on to a persons record, so nobody receiving them regarding partygate will in fact have a criminal record.

I personally think he should go as I have said previously, I also think that there are a number of Conservative MPs who are watching how the electorate deal/respond to Mr.Johnson being given a FPN and will act accordingly.

Coastpath Wed 13-Apr-22 09:19:40

Allegra Stratton resigned just for making jokes about parties.

Johnson said yesterday that the country deserves better.

We do.

nanna8 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:26:03

Are you allowed to hold high public office with a criminal record ? Just wondering.

Visgir1 Wed 13-Apr-22 09:26:57

I was surprised the fine if you pay on time is £30..speeding ticket for driving 30 in a 20 mile zone is more.
Nothing will happen until after the local elections then he might go?
It will be interesting to see the turn out as that will impact the outcome as well.

trisher Wed 13-Apr-22 09:27:16

The problem is who is going to take on the job? It's a poisoned chalice. You can see the Tory big-wigs brains whirring, leave Boris in charge, dump him just before the next GE and blame everything on him. Enter GE with a new leader who promises to sort everything out. If things are too desperate run a lousy campaign and let Labour in. Then blame them for everything.

JaneJudge Wed 13-Apr-22 09:28:50

that led by donkeys video is powerful

Both Micheal Fabricant and Nadine Dorries are in safe seats.

Coastpath Wed 13-Apr-22 09:40:44

People have been voting Fabricant into office since 1992!!!

"In July 2018, Fabricant was accused of being Islamophobic over a subsequently-deleted tweet he shared depicting London mayor Sadiq Khan, who is a Muslim, in a sex act with a pig." Wikipedia.

There's no cure for people.
