Uber drivers homophobic rant

I have just come back from visiting my daughter and her boyfriend in Bristol. We had a lovely weekend going to the theatre and to the Pride festival in Clifton downs. The atmosphere was amazing and I felt quite emotional at how people could be themselves and be accepted without any hostility or discrimination. Having lived through the decades of homophobia and losing friends to Aids I felt overwhelmed .
However on the uber journey back to the station to get the train home the driver went into a prolonged rant on the evils of gay people and how they will all go to hell. Now I know that people are entitled to their own views but he was very hostile and I couldn't get a word in at all.
I am thinking maybe I should report him to Uber as I am concerned he may upset and be like this to a gay couple. I would hate anyone to be frightened by him or to affect their self esteem.
What are your thoughts on this please ?

His job is to drive you from A - B, end of, not to air his petsonal views of whatever

I dont know the code of conduct of Uber drivers but I would have thought what you're saying took place was against the rules ( if the rules were there in the first place )

hmm

Further update from Uber.
" The behaviour you have described is certainly concerning. Rest assured we take these kinds of allegations very seriously and will be taking the appropriate actions internally with the driver involved . "
Feel happy with their response .

This fact is two years old but it’s relevant.
3,000 cases of sexual assault were reported last year against Uber drivers
