Deliveries - a moan

Today, I was expecting three deliveries. The first arrived around 8am; the courier rang the front doorbell, handed over the package with a smile and a cheery word. The second courier rang the bell at the side door while I was eating my lunch. Package handed over, thanks expressed, all well and good.

A few minutes ago, I wondered when I might expect the third delivery and checked the Amazon app. To my surprise, I found my delivery had arrived. At some unspecified time, it had been deposited outside the garage. Fortunately, as Amazon are busy saving the planet by not wrapping goods in nice, waterproof plastic, the rain has eased considerably so nothing is actually damaged.

Is it me? Am I being unreasonable by thinking that in a house with two working doorbells where someone has been home all day, there is no earthly reason on a sodden, wet day to deposit parcels in an outdoor place and walk away?

i have the same problem with evri, a few months ago i was buying a large amount from poundland online, about £60, i get all my cleaning and laundry etc to do about 3 months, i live in a small block of flats with four floors and a lift, evri left it in the foyer and someone stole it (i was in), it took over a month to get a refund, i have other things taken from outside my door even when i have left a note on the door to take it to a neighbours house. the only postal service i can be sure i get my parcel is royal mail as they never leave it if i don't answer the door. i thought hermes was bad but evri is not any better.

We had an Amazon delivery yesterday which wasn’t even wrapped! It was a child’s toy with delivery label stuck on.

I have had that with Amazon too, just a label stuck on the box. However I suppose it saves excess packaging and, much as I hate myself for using them, they deliver incredibly quickly.
