A bit awkward!

I'd really appreciate a bit of advice please!
My neighbours (late 70s) are away for a week and are paying their DGD to house sit their gorgeous (old) labrador (GOL). As DGD works from 9-9, they asked me to walk him, and feed him each day; I'm absolutely happy to do this as he's no trouble whatsoever.
But ... over the last couple of days I've become a little concerned, as the house is a mess (washing up not done, dirty plates everywhere and dog poo in the garden). Plus today - there was no water in his water bowl. I've given him clean water and cleared away the dog poo, but am not sure whether to do anything more ... or to just leave it? I'd hate them to come back to a mess!
I'm sure that someone will say that DGD will probably have a big clean up before my neighbours return ... but I've cared for GOL before, and the mess was just left. My common sense tells me to just care and clean up after GOL, am I right?!

The poo is just being left now - supposedly because I've been doing it ๐Ÿ˜” Oh well ... only two more days to go!

Don't clean up. Let them come back to mess and just speak to them about the state of the house when they return. DGD needs to learn responsibilities. Just ensure the dog has water and has been fed and that's all you can do. If you express the state the house got in, they will be unlikely to ask her again.

No, don't do that.
She might have a massive clean-up before they come back and, if she doesn't, it's between her and her grandparents, not for a neighbour to say.

No I would not comment on the mess. Its not your place to tidy up after the DGD or to parent her. Thats up to her own relatives. Just do what you have been asked to do and dont get involved in disputes between family members. No good deed goes unpunished.
