I've just been informed from EE by mobile that the new high-speed fibre broadband will be starting here tomorrow.
This is completely new.
I'm not coming back here, it's depressing me too much.

Delivery of new router in transit from BT via Royal Mail
(46 Posts)AIBU to be annoyed that I was given a three hour window on Friday (10.01 to 1.01 pm) for delivery, and have still not received the router today (Monday) and now have no idea when it will arrive?
Aiming to phone them again in the morning...
No delivery, more promises!
Thanks, Callistemon21. - and M0nica.
I was just about giving up yesterday.
The thing is, I think, that any suggestions here have been hopeful, but won't do anything in time to sort this out.
I have tried yesterday to get advice from two CAB numbers, but they were both much too busy.
The RM post has come and gone today, bringing a package from my sister (two days posted) but NO router and adapter.
I'm reluctant to ring RM direct as it's an 0345 number and I have several times been on EE for up to an hour.
Tried their website contact but as everything has so far gone through EE, I don't have enough information.
Tomorrow I do expect a phone call from the EE man in Belfast though... I'm not feeling up to ringing EE yet again.

Ok..... so nobody cares!
Sorry! I've been for an exceedingly early hospital appointment, set out at 6.45 am, just having breakfast now.
They're not just inefficient, they are completely useless.
Have they got a Facebook page? They won't like it if you precis your problem on there and someone may sort ot out quickly.
Oh, Ali, what a mess.
Ok..... so nobody cares!
Guess what.
The 'Guide' did arrive this morning. In a very bad mood. He was running late, called me but didn't let me explain, so arrived at the door anyway.
I got treated like a nuisance, basically, and he rushed off again.
So...I had to phone up again.
After I had a good cry. Until this I hadn't, it was just the last straw. This time it is EE's fault, and I told them so.
I did get confirmation that the other man will phone on Saturday,
I don't even want this change! Seems a whole lot of people will be dependent on having a) power and b) Internet.
If there's a power cut, or if the internet is compromised...they lose their communications.
(Can't remember if I said this before, but it bears repeating.)
So far BT for years has been good, but this week has been a nightmare. and I'm stuck with it!
I'm just getting pushed around.
...and no, the equipment hasn't arrived.
🤬
OMBUDSMAN! …. or woman 👩
And I ran into a traffic jam, trying to put the man off until the 11th!
I really try to stay polite....it's very difficult sometimes. But no point in letting off at the person at the end of the phone. Apparently the 'Guides' had had a meeting and just let the calls pile up (whose idea was that?).
As a result I spent 3pm until after 6 hanging on the end of phone for ten minutes every half hour or so, listening to tinny pop music and interjected messages about high volume of calls! About 6.20 it was sorted.
...and, just in case you wanted to know - no equipment has arrived yet.
Yesterday I thought things had got sorted. After the promised delivery hadn't arrived, I spent 40 minutes on the phone again and was very relieved that everything was postponed until the 11th. And the man is going to phone me on the 9th to check.
As I got on here to write, I got a text to say the 'Guide' is coming tomorrow! Back to the grind of phoning. (****!)
All this has more or less forced me to put my PAYG smartphone on a contract with EE. Ive given the number to very few people as I dont want to be too easy to contact. Nor do I want American customers ringing me at 3 am to ask where their package is.
Where are they going to 🤔
Phoned...EE. Same number.I still haven't got the relationship between that and BT....
...anyway a nice lady in Lancashire this time has reordered
(again - maybe I'll get three) the router etc and promised a delivery tomorrow. and changed the visit of the engineer (now 'Guide' for some reason) to the 7th.
Perhaps this will work?
At last, ONE adapter has arrived about 12.
I suppose that's something.
I will have to phone BT next. Good thing it's free.
They will probably have to phone Royal Mail while I wait again....
My new smart router got delivered to the wrong address. I rang BT and they sent out another one which arrived 3 days later. Meantime a nice lady turned up with the original. She was a nurse on shifts when it arrived so unable to bring it til next day. This meant I now had 2 routers. Fortunately BT send you a special paid envelope to send the "old" router back so I was able to post the excess one back to them.
As for phones the old one I had would not work properly with the new hub. I bought one of the new advanced BT phones which only work with the smart hub. They have all the same features as my old on such as the ability to block various kinds of calls (international/anonymous and so on).
Unfortunately all the platforms are swapping to digital voice from landlines. Ive had to turn my PAYG mobile into a contract one. grrrrrrrrrrrr
I shall cross all of mine!
Wait for it...10.35 to 1.35 tomorrow.
I shall have to phone them again anyway, as the guy is still coming on the 6th...
That was meant to be crossed fingers, Alie2Oxon
It looks rather rude.
🤞🏻
Latest. An actual text from Royal Mail direct to me!!!
Package to be delivered on Monday morning.
Let's see if it is.
And what it is.
I was promised (from Cardiff by BT/EE) a new router and 2 adapters - to allow for having phones up and down stairs as I can't get to them quickly.
And also - since they've changed my changeover date from 1 March to 6th to 11th now - have they also changed the date for the engineer to put it in?
Many promises on the way through last week here....

I've now had a text on my mobile to say that "my Digital Home Phone should be up and running tomorrow"
Frankly I'm panicking.
All these messages are 'no reply'.
^What do I do if nothing works tomorrow?^
Compensation!

All I know is it's in transit....
Just had another look..al I can get is
"Sorry, no options are currently available for this parcel."
...no idea why I can't get any further. If it's with Royal Mail then you won't be able to track it until they've tried to deliver it! Bonkers, I know.
Yodel and Evri are trackable via the app. Don't always go by the tracking on the website where you bought it from. Go to the actual couriers website.I had something like this the other week. I tracked it all the way to the Glasgow Mail Centre, told it would be delivered the following day, then I got the message:
Sorry, no options are currently available for this parcel..
It had been sent to the Isle of Bute in error. Post codes totally different.
Much to my surprise, it turned up eventually.
I sent a Christmas card years ago to friends in rural Gloucestershire, complete with correct post code but the postcode is Welsh 🤔
It arrived about three months later, having been up to John O'Groats.
AlwaysSmiling, Never had service like that from Virgin Media. It's difficult enough to get to speak to a real person, never mind get a new router.
When we do, we have to fit it ourselves.
I am with Virgin Media and without me even asking them for a new one, they delivered my brand new up todate router by hand, fitted it for me and also installed my old landline phone into the router and gave me an emergency back up phone with batteries in case there is a power cut. Great service, been with them since they were NTL in the 1980's. I have a friend who is with BT and she is always popping round to my house to use my phone as hers has stopped working. Her landline is still plugged in to the old type wall socket.
Ive had a lot of trouble caused by BT and their bl**y digital voice program. Had to have an engineer sent out to make the old landline work with the new smart hub. 5 minutes after he left it stopped working. So I had to buy a new BT phone designed to work with said smart hub.
Last weekend there was a glitch of some kind which affected me and my nephew - so presumably other folks in my area. When I tried to ring his home phone it was going immediately to voice mail. Same his end. We could only communicate via mobiles. After 3 days the problem mysteriously disappeared.
They have brought in this new technology far too soon and it is full of bugs.
