Yesterday was a wet windy grey day and I was thinking how lovely it would be to put the tree up but as a family we have always waited for the first weekend in December , until this year both my daughters have just sent me photos of their Christmas trees they put up yesterday [ grin ]

According to Gogglebox last night, if you put your tree up too early you tree-ejaculate! 😂😂

More lights on garden trees today. Pretty!

FGT , I'd have believed that you had posted your tree....

Ours tree has gone up today and then tomorrow the DC and DGC come for their first Christmas dinner and the GC put new baubles on our tree. It’s our tradition. The weather is so rubbish it’s certainly cheered up the day.
I never criticise people putting their decorations up early because I don’t know what is going on in their lives behind closed doors so each to their own.

Mine is up1 Love it. I also loved seeing other people's this after noon while walking in this dreary weather. Garden lights so brighten up the streets.

It's not even December!

No, but tomorrow is the first Sunday in Advent, so I have put up the nativity that is so placed that it can be seen from the pavement outside my house.

I would not put a tree up yet, by any manner of means, as I swear by real ones, but those who favour artificial trees may well feel tempted.

Your silver tree sounds lovely Wyllow. I must seek out some pine spray.

No tree this year just decorations and lights.

We put our trees up yesterday, one in the sitting room, one in the conservatory.

It’s not a job I relish, but I like to see them finished and lit up. I think it looks cheerful for people going past in the dark, especially the conservatory one, (no drawn blinds).

But they will be coming down soon after Christmas Day, probably the Sunday after.

Usually have them up about 4 weeks.

Why not ?
If it's what you feel like doing your decorations early.
This year I noticed as I passed them on the bus that so many people have put their outside decorations up .
Things are sad and depressing in the UK and I thought that it cheers our area up .
