Online shopping delivery charges

Have you checked where they are coming from? It sounds like a company based abroad which will incur significant costs sending something to the UK by express delivery. Look for a different supplier.

Cheaper to buy 3 500ml bottles of milk and freeze them!
Only 85p in Tesco. Reusable and ok to freeze.

I think that is unusual. Some companies charge delivery even though we have Prime.

Why not buy long life milk in cartons . They have long dates on them. if you do decide to freeze milk make sure allow room in the bottles as they will expand during freezing .

If you can buy 500ml plastic bottles of milk, why not buy several and freeze them, and then re-use?

I can't buy the half-size bottles (not cartons) as goat milk doesn't come that size.
I don't do Prime for the reason stated. It costs more than it's worth to me!
I think the as must have come from China, which I was trying to avoid.

I think the cheapest way would probably be to get the cow milk (which I can't drink) keep the empties and give the milk away!

As Whiff said, buy long life milk if you need milk to last. I have fortnightly delivery of my groceries so that suits me fine!

I just use the smaller water bottles (not that we buy water often at all) or e.g. empty squash bottles.

Our milk comes in glass, but I do occasionally top up with a plastic bottle. I don’t always remember to keep one handy for freezing excess milk in, though.

I just shove them in the freezer (a small, under the fridge job) wherever there’s space, so always lying horizontally.

Could you buy 500ml bottles of still water, and use those when empty ? The very cheap bottles are probably too fragile, but others are stronger. Look in supermarkets for Buxton (500ml) and Aqua Carpatica (only 250 ml)

I joined Amazon Prime last year whilst waiting for a knee operation. I could no longer go trolling round shops and delivery charges were racking up. It has been a life saver and saved me a fortune as I bought all my 🎄 gifts from them. Never paid as much as you were quoted for those bottles before this - but once was asked for to pay £25 on a bag only costing £37!

I got plastic 350ml bottles in Home Bargains once. It’s worth looking there.

Be aware that there are different types of plastic even for drinks bottles. Milk has fat in it so might interact with chemicals in the bottles and leach out into the milk. Safer by far is to buy some small bottles of milk then re-purpose them when empty

Can you drink lactose-free milk?
Or use juice or squash bottles?

I ordered a couple of Christmas presents from Amazon then had an email to say estimated delivery date was now 26th/27th February! So I cancelled them.

Good idea loopylyn2 but I think this is for goats milk.

We used to freeze our goats milk in its original plastic pouch and defrost into a jug.
Maybe you could look at this?

After using the milk from 3x 500ml bottles, wash and save to refill from your large bottle of milk and freeze.

Just buy the 500ml milk ..dis guard the contents or give to a neighbour. The empty bottles will have only cost you 85p each. Stack side by side

Freeze the milk in bags. Ziploc won't leak and it takes up much less room when flattened
