Beds in the study?

My 3rd bedroom is small and has always been used as a study/computer room. When my grandsons 9 and 10 come twice a year they sleep on blow up beds. This had never been a problem but now my other son says the boys are too big for this and he is going to help me get a pull out bed or sofa bed.
I feel this will spoil my room but perhaps I should give in and let him go ahead. What would you do?

The older one is quite big. I think we will have to get the more solid trundle bed and that will also do any other visitors.

We have slept happily for a week on inflatable beds. They aren't slippy or squishy like the ones for the beach!
They pack away quite small and can self-inflate.

Personally I'd go for something like this rather than something permanent.

We used to have a sofa bed for years and I still miss it. It was lovely and apparently very cosy .

I wouldn't be wanting two sux footers in one sofa bed, they probably don't. If it were me I would ask the boys what they prefer, otherwise ask their parents. I would do what they want as its not for too long at their ages and I would want them happy.,

When our children were younger we always had campbeds. Part of the fun of holidaying.

Do they have a tent they could bring, do you have an enclosed garden? at their age they might enjoy this adventure or the one of camping out in your house twice a year, why not.

My children loved camping in gardens (even ours!)
What a good idea!

NotSpaghetti, ours too, 3 of them in one tent with two cats.

If they only come twice a year I'd not put permanent bed(s) in, sofa or otherwise. Blimey - a blow up bed they can bring and take away is enough.

An alternative? When folded can use as a shelf.

I would tell your son to get lost. Who does he think he is? Has he got his eye on the study for his own future purposes?

You will be very lucky, if you see your grandsons once a year in about 5 years time.

So take my advice. Spend the cost of a sofa bed on yourself! Couple of Spa Days, Weekend away etc.

Because you are worth it

Enjoy
