M&S

I know M&S has had huge problems with online sales etc but OMG it is still not working well at all. Also the range of goods is not what I am used to but maybe I'm behind the times. The range in all areas seems bizarre. DGD age 8 needs new knickers - only 1 set and not what she would wear. We need a pedestal mat for bathroom - only 1 comes up and not rubber backed which it needs to be to prevent slipping. DD shops in Primark so perhaps I should just go there. Does anyone else find the quality has deteriorated and the website is not working well?

I buy little from M&S these days, apart from bras and shapewear pants. The pants i buy because I have a stoma and they are comfortable and supportive. The bras, too, are the most comfortable I have found, but they've stopped making them in cream. I don't always want to wear white under pastel tops as I think they look a bit stark and cream blended better. For lots of clothes I've started ordering from Shein and have had lots of comments about how nice the clothes look.

Definitely noticed deterioration in quality. Was in store recently and there was plenty of choice of the larger sizes but medium for men and 10/12 for women sadly lacking. Went to order ballet slippers for my mum today, a style we have both bought for years and they are no longer part of their range. Ballet slippers available didn't even come in shoe sizes but S, M, L ,XL!

Unfortunately, l think good old Marks and Spencer has been. dying a slow death for many years.

Besides some of their food. I think the quality of a lot of their products in really overpriced and that not great. Same for John Lewis.

Many companies now seem to be doing everything on the cheap. With poor computer systems. A admin and stock control.

With Mars and Spencer l think it's a case of

Fings Ain't What They Used To Be

RIP

Also just looking at M&S website, the 'older' model has disappeared. They are now very much aiming for a younger audience. I think they will regret doing that.

I have bought things in Sainsbury this year for the first time ever. Better quality than before and I can find dresses and trousers long enough.

I must be the only one on GN who loves M&S these days ☹️ Except for the underwear, but that's pretty dire everywhere and I've always had a problem with finding bras that fit. The only thing I've had a problem with in M&S was a white dress last year that was constantly out of stock but did eventually come back in.

No you're not. I still have an M&S habit and my daughters even buy there.

I used to shop a lot in M and S..but to be honest..they are very expensive..I shop in Matalan now..and tbh..they are very good quality.

What M&S fails to sell is 100%cotton underwear. Last knickers I bought there had awful elastic which rubbed. Bras have elastic and metal fastening which I find very irritating to wear. I have to buy from specialized eczema sites now.

I recently ordered two knitted short sleeve tops from m and s, for collection at my local store. Two days later got an email saying order was delayed, no further info. Phoned them two days later for update, told goods not available in my choice of size colour and refund would be processed. Two days later, I got confirmation that a duplicate order had been processed, free of charge and was ready for collection! Meantime, I had received a full refund! I duly collected it and a member of staff said this was not unusual now as compensation for any inconvenience!

I can always find something I like in M & S.

Their boots are always on trend and so comfortable.

The last underwear I bought from M&S was sadly, awful. The bra fit is way off and I constantly have to use bra extenders. Pants are just cheap material, wear out quickly and as a previous poster said no cotton pants to be had. My husband had an issue with his credit card and that was a nightmare to sort. Their App stopped working on his phone and he could not access his account to pay his bill. Had to call customer service twice, the final call being over TWO HOURS long! They have had to put him back on to paper statements. When I'm in M&S I still pay by cash and will continue to do so until they get this sorted. We do still want to support them and the staff.

The knickers are so thin I have started wearing 2 pairs.

There's a sweeping statement if ever I saw one!

So fed up with M and S at the moment. As I wrote earlier I’d ordered two duvets, only to be told after I’d paid that they were oos.
They’re still available on their website a week later so I reordered. You’ve guessed it same thing happened again. I give up !

Fiercely loyal to M&S, so much so that my DM has always scoffed at me - but….

Visiting multiple stores….Swindon, Leicester, London Colney….the staff of the floor don’t seem to wear identifying uniform any longer (jeans and T shirts?) and I invariably encounter them chatting in groups of 2 or 3, blocking the aisles and the items I’m interested in.

Never any stocks in larger sizes of items I specifically want to purchase.

I always go with a list and mostly come away empty handed.

(For context, very loyal shareholder for 50 years, but only because my Ddad rewarded me with £200 at age 18 - as a bonus for promising not to be a smoker). I spentt my childhood imagining how many Sindy dolls I would be able to “buy” at the time 😂….

I like their cotton big knickers which are comfy and that is all I care about these days.
They aren’t particularly thin but did buy some synthetic material big knickers by mistake that are comfy but sheer so these I would describe as thin.

No one uses pedestal mats anymore - people generally find them rather disgusting! If M&S stocked them, they’d never sell them.

Personally I don't use them, but John Lewis still sell them so they obviously do sell.

Happy with homewares from M&S. my DH likes the classic type mens clothes from there but not the skinny trousers. I buy good basics from them like slippers, short and long sleeve t shirts, linen trousers and tops, underwear, nightwear, some shoes. I don’t like the dresses at all. Usually too long, fiddly and flouncy styles.

Kids clothes also very good, really good quality. I buy lots for my grandchildren in the sale.

I also like the fresh floral fragrances they do. I like M& S.

Sometimes we have to pee quicker

So we need a substantial knicker

Marks do please take note,

Get your customers' vote

And make all your knickers much thicker

I look in Marks from time to time, mainly because I still get 20% discount. I recently had to throw out an old M&S T shirt style nightdress because the cotton was wearing into holes. M&S was the obvious choice for a replacement but they had mostly pyjamas, which I hate. how ever I found one nightdress without one of their stupid sayings on the front. It was shorter than my original one but not too bad. Two washes later it had shrunk up so far that I wouldn't dare bend over in it, and I replaced it with one from Sainsbury. I did find a rather nice perfume though, orange flower and amber. It reminded me of a Fragonard one I used to use, and was only £10.

Shows we are all so different doesn’t it, I can’t wear any shoes or boots now from M&S and find them really uncomfortable.
Now shop for boots in Hotter.

I've been in Tesco this morning and there are a lot of empty shelves, I asked at the till if they'd been hacked as it reminded me of M&S empty shelves when they were attacked.

Not on account of a simple limerick I'm not! But it's nice of you to notice thanks.
