do your GC still want to wear your handknits?

Excuse if this has been asked before, but my friend said her GC refuse to wear her hand knitted sweaters any more (I think they are 6 and 8, boys). My GD age 5 still seems to like my knits - but for how long I ask! Or should I buy some more 'trendy' patterns? DIL seems to appreciate anything I knit for her 5 yr old and sister age 2.

Anyone else had experience of GC refusing to wear Granny's knits?

I knitted myself a purple chunky knit cardigan last year and my 14 year old granddaughter nabbed it for herself. I then knitted myself another in a different pattern in light grey and I had so many folk ask me to knit it for them. No way! I did knit my DIL one for Christmas and she was stopped in John Lewis and asked where she'd bought it from. It was so heavy to knit though, it was like wrestling a large dog on my lap for hours!
