Anyone else making things for Christmas fairs?

And if so, what? I've promised to make some little things for Gdd's preschool Christmas fair. Since I'm also making the time consuming crib set, it'll probably just be some mini snowmen/Father Christmas tree ornaments out of the Jean Greenhowe book.
However I'm open to suggestions for anything else relatively quick and easy to make - which is likely to sell well. (Apart from mince pies!)

Does anyone know where you can buy ladder yarn ( making jewellery) from? It seems to have vanished.

This is jewellery making wire, not ladder yarn
www.beadsdirect.co.uk/stringing/wire

You probably can't get it because no-one mends ladders any more!
Remember dabbing them with nail varnish to stop them running?

the products are available from other outlets

Haha Jalima grin
Not those kind of ladders!
I will post a pic of it soon. Ladder yarn is soft ( not wire) but when knitted or crocheted makes beautiful necklaces that look like metallic beads but is soft and featherlight to wear.

Oh, sorry! I got the wrong idea. My MIL had a reel of nylon thread (unbreakable!) like a Sylko reel, which was specifically for mending ladders

I may still have it and was going to offer to send it to you if you can't find any grin

I was intrigued by the "ladder yarn" so went off a-Googling and found some, there's loads on Etsy:

Thanks. Not difficult, it’s just squares.

I bought that red fabric last year ginny, it was in amongst a bundle of fat quarters from JL and I made bunting; the red was my favourite.

That looks very professional - and difficult!

ps the red fabric in the first picture - poinsettias.
