Nice to see lots of charity knitting suggestions. Can i suggest Linus charity. Blanket patterns amongst those on their website and all the other relevant details. Depends too on the size of the ball of wool you have Teetime and your knitting skills. I'm busy working through what i have in my workroom. Today it's a repurposed patchwork dog kit which i won but thought would be better used as a baby quilt. Happy knitting whatever you decide.

Has anyone else fallen foul of holiday booking agency refusing to give a refund. I have booked with Abersoch Quality Homes for a family holiday in 10 days time. It is offering a rebooking but that is not possible. It was a Golden Wedding celebration! I will lose a large sum of money. I did pay on Credit card but understand that doesn't help!

A 100 g will make a baby cardigan, or a beanie hat.

100gm will make an 18" square blanket for incubator for NICU. I predict a baby boom around Christmas!

A scarf (or maybe two?) for the "Christmas Shoebox" charity? (It doesn't have to be an adult size scarf; these gift-boxes are intended for children of all ages.)

Hat, for use after you have cut your own hair?

hat for premature baby, currently in short supply. Just google and you'll get the pattern... very easy to knit.

Face mask?

Canalboatgranma Fri 27-Mar-20 11:25:39

Face scrubbies, which can be any shape. Plenty of patterns online

On F Book there were posts with free knitting patterns.

If you search for Ventilator Hat knitting pattern you will find one for prem babies. They are using in ICU. Not sure where you send them but sure there are details somewhere. I’ve made a few but my niece is a nurse and will collect them when we are the other side of this.

Ah that's a lovely idea but GS is 15 and that would not be cool but it would be fun seeing his horrified face.

Its a 100gm I think.

Do you have grandchildren? (Sorry, I've seen you posting plenty but I can't remember any specific references to DGC)

Depending on how proficient you are, a blanket or scarf for their dolls, some clothes or a small teddy. If you have some material (perhaps a cotton print) that coordinates with it, the possibilities are almost endless, starting with the cushion idea above.

Why not try macrame?

Lilypops Fri 27-Mar-20 07:33:00

Tee time. Why about head cover for your favourite golf club, it would be plenty for a Driver. Or a fairway wood.

A cushion Teetime? Knit a square, fabric to size for the back, stitch 3 sides, add stuffing the close.

I have quite a bit of spare wool and found a pattern on Ravelry to make a shawl. Start with three stitches, garter stitch, increase at beginning of every row until desired width and depth is reached gives you one side of the shawl. Start decreasing every row until three stitches left, et voila, one large triangle shaped shawl. Easy peasy?

I've just made a nice little bag with a spare ball of wool. Just a rectangle, folded up and the top bit folded over. Cord added and a button for the flap.

Sorry MiniMoon, crossed posts there. smile

MamaCaz Thu 26-Mar-20 10:16:24

How big a ball? 50g or 100g? Hard to make suggestions without that info.
As the saying goes, 'How long is a piece of string wool'? grin

MiniMoon Thu 26-Mar-20 10:16:23

How big is the ball of wool? 100g would make boot cuffs or a nech warmer/cowl..
As midgey says Google something like " what can I knit with 100g of wool", and you'll find lots of ideas.s
Let's see the finished product ?.

midgey Thu 26-Mar-20 10:11:11

Try googling the question! Might come up with weird ideas.

aggie Thu 26-Mar-20 10:10:36
