Well thank you so much I just do them to give a tiny bit of fun away I really aren’t that clever I m in awe of some people efforts though
I think glass paints are a bit thinner aren’t they evie
Are there any other pebble painters who can put a pic up I m feeling lonely
I m sure I remember someone showing a really beautiful animal painted some years back but I can’t remember who it was

I use glass paints as that's all I have in the house at moment, but I used to paint rocks a lot and used acrylics and then varnished. The glass paints are okay but acrylics are better.

Lovely Bluebelle
What kind of varnish did you use?

I have done some very amateur looking ones in the past using acrylics.
Then I saw some outstanding ones at a Country Show and thought I wouldn't give up the day job.

Our village has painted rocks all round it, all thanking the NHS

Where I live people paint rocks and hide them around the village for children to find and keep or re hide, this was before the virus.

I’ve never been directed to a site that charged a fee for painted rocks and stones.

Thank you GNetters, I'm not a fan of Pinterest tbh, I find many of the sites charge a fee but I'll certainly look on YouTube!

You can get some good tutorials on YouTube

I paint rocks using acrylic paint. I usually base paint white as it makes the colours brighter. I also use a hairdryer to dry layers. I then spray with a varnish as it brings up the colours. They can go outside and will last for a year or two.

Look on Pinterest, there are some amazing painted rocks on there, people use all sorts of mediums. I used acrylic paints

Namsnanny Mon 06-Apr-20 01:25:25

Well I have done it, but in a very ad hock and amateur fashion!

I used whatever paint I had available and varnished it afterwards.

I didn't check out any web sites but that's a good idea.

Has anyone painted any rocks, if so what medium did you use? I would quite like to have a go but don't quite know where to start. I know I could Google the subject but I'd really appreciate some first hand experience. Thank you GNetters
