Hi, does anyone have any advice on repairing a small hole in a silk velvet top? My first thoughts are iron on interfacing but also thought about fabric glue tha stops fraying. Any ideas? TIA

Is invisible mending done nowadays? You used to be able to have that done by dry cleaning companies.
I feel neither of your suggestions would look good unless the silk is a heavy stiff silk.

Thanks for replying. Its not a fine silk, its a medium weight velvet but has a silk content.

If nothing works to your satisfaction Pixieboots you could make a feature out of it.
Last week I found a small hole in an old but much worn and loved white top and that’s what I intend to do.
