I'm blowing my own trumpet here but I am very proud of my first foray into cross stitch.
I have actually made three unicorns, two ballet dancers and one Harry Potter. These are for six of my granddaughters. I really hope they like them.

Here is my lavender flowers My one and only cross stitch make, so far.

Love all the designs here.

Nanna8 that sounds lovely. And a bargain. My daughter got me a cross stitch book out of a charity shop the other week. All new designs to me. It's by an American author.

Red letter day - I found a beautiful old unworked crossstitch kit in an op shop for $4. It is like a sampler with ‘Spring’ at the bottom. I have added a couple of sheep to it already because I like them.

Nanna8 sounds like you are another adict. I have been trying to get a friend of mine to have a go as she needs something to relax her . I am putting together a kit for her and hopefully she will do it and get hooked as well.

I love crossstitch too. It is something I do in the evening with the telly on in the background. I have been doing it since the 1980s when we moved to a very isolated part of the world. We moved back to civilisation many years ago but it sort of got a hold of me so I kept going.

Sar53 beautiful work. The cakes look good enough to eat.

Spottybook all I can say is wow. I haven't been brave enough to work on black Aida especially not on 16 count. The colours are so vibrant. It's beautiful.

Two very talented women.

Such talented work on here. Here is my offering. The black on black has been tricky on the eyes especially as it is 16 count and is slow going. I will post a photo when I have finished it in about five years timesmile

These are my two latest pieces of work, both need pressing. I'm getting a little more adventurous.

That is beautiful Whiff. I am with you on the machine sewing - very tricky.

Whiff Thu 07-Jan-21 13:32:52

Just finished this hope you like it. Cross stitch I can do. Machine sewing is a bit iffy.

CamelotClub, I just love your jumper. Is the pattern still available , as I am very tempted to try it.

spottybook Sun 03-Jan-21 12:42:36

Thank you, Whiff. I have placed an order. Such beautiful, bright colours.

Whiff Sun 03-Jan-21 12:04:41

Spottybook it's from Heritage crafts Karen Carter collection Daffodil landscape. It's 20.5 x 20.5 cm whole stitches and back stitch. There is Daisy and Poppy landscapes as well. Don't know how much it was I won it as a give away from Cross stitch Crazy magazine. Unfortunately they don't publish the magazine anymore so my subscription has been switched to the world of cross stitching which is still a good magazine. I have a subscription with Cross stitcher magazine as well.

Auntieflo you are very talented . Beautiful work. I'm green with envy.

Auntieflo Thu 10-Dec-20 11:40:56

Thank you Whiff, I shall start to investigate, after Christmas, as I have knitting to finish and a couple of other things pending, that I should do first.

Here are a couple of photos, taken in my messy sewing room, of embroidery, done many years ago, and my eye sight is nor good enough now to so the tiny counted stitch ones.

Whiff Wed 09-Dec-20 12:22:15

Finally put together my first Christmas decorations to be posted.

I decided that I needed something to do, other than reading and watching tv, during lockdown . I've made a couple of patchwork cushions and I am making a knitted blanket from squares, so far I've knitted about 60. I can do this whilst watching tv in the evenings .
I found some cross stitch that I had started years ago and decided to try again. I love it and I'm now following a pattern for a ring of flowers.
Thank you all for sharing your pictures and for all the lovely comments.
