Yarn weight for baby blanket

It's a USA term, probably about DK - Aran thickness , using 4.5mm to 5.00mm needles but I'd do a test swatch.

It wouldn't matter so much for a blanket as long as it's big enough.

Light worsted is the same as DK in the UK.

Anno I’ve made several baby blankets over the last few years, lacy ones, one with sheep on it, and one with dolphins to suit parental wishes
The yarn was double knitting equivalent but usually a blend of fibres to give a lightweight & soft feel & to enable machine washing.
