Lovely work, everyone! I fool around with drawing and watercolours. I do think it exercises your brain and makes you look at things closely. I enjoy ink and wash drawings.

Just do it. Honestly, there are people who have said nasty things in the past. But, where is that art teacher now? Did she ever make art herself or just teach children to fail their o levels and feel bad about themselves?

I have a motto. "Use what you have, where you are". Life is short and there will always be someone who doesn't like what you do, but do it anyway because it's your life and it's for the living. The only people critiquing you, will be the ones who aren't thriving or using their own creativity- and they need pity.

No I won’t colour it happy I like pencil I do some painting (not enough there’s more in my head than on the paper) but I feel so much more in control of a pencil or fine pen
But when I do a bit of painting it’s either acrylics or water colours
I might show you some one day but moira have you any more for us to see ?

It's the kind of sketching I like to do (or used to do), I also like pen and wash. All this talk of art is making my fingers itch to start again!

I actually prefer your little landscape MOira I love the colours you used. The portraits show some lovely pencil work and I'm sure you would find a good art group helpful. Definitely don't stop now.

I love all the pictures . So many talented artists, here. I have always wanted to paint watercolours.

My only claim to fame is that at the age of twelve, I had a painting of Glasgow Central Staion Concourse, displayed in the local museum and art gallery.
It was downhill after that. ?

Our eldest gd (age 13) just did this.

I do not have artistic bone in my body but I think it's good.

I hadn't done any sketching for years , although done lots of other crafts. I did this of my granddaughter a few weeks ago.

Lovely work, I wish I could doddle like that. I got my friend to do my Art homework at school.

I was always rubbish at art, Moira - our art teacher would write just one word on my reports - ‘Weak’.

As other's have said join a small art group, or classes, you'll enjoy it.
Or why not retake your O-Level?
I took A-Level Art when I was in my 40s (I wasn't allowed to take O or A at school, long story), I was the oldest in the class and got the highest marks throughout the course. I only did it to prove to myself that I could.

Strangely enough I very rarely draw or paint now, sewing has taken over, but I always carry a small sketch book and pencils with me. I have loads of little books of quick sketches that I intended to use at some point. Someday perhaps.....

They are lovely. Why not look for an art group to join. I'm not very good but I enjoy going, having a go and looking at other peoples work you get lots of ideas and others who are better painters help the rest of us.
