Hi all.

I have knitted this sweater for myself with left over James Brett Marble Chunky wool. The challenge was set to make it in one week, which I managed to do. Struggling with a big bout of depression lately - I like to try and set myself these challenges with crafts to keep myself sane. Hope you like it.

Well done purplepixie. Craft is good for making us feel better about ourselves.

I think to knit that in a week was amazing……but what really astounds me is that you have sewn it up and finished entirely! Well done you. 👏👏👏👏👏

Wow, as others have said - that's a great achievement. It looks beautiful and I hope it is warm and comfortable too. Wear with great pride!

Witzend

I can beat that, Callistemon! I had one that I didn't knit in 30 odd years - a cardigan started for a dd of then 7 - in about 1988!

Some of the yarn - pastel multicolour - eventually ended up as doll’s clothes and blankets for Gdd1. I still have some of it lurking in my stash!

I did the front, the sleeves and nearly up to the neck part of the front.
It probably wouldn't fit me now even if I finished it!

Gorgeous, well done Purplepixie. Genuinely impressed!

What a lovely, carefully crafted jumper - particularly impressive as it has been produced in record time! 🧶 🪡 🧶

Well done Purplepixie, for the jumper and the timing-which I’m really impressed by!
Keep going!

Yes, I'm impressed too.
And ashamed.

Watch out for my thread:
"I knitted this sweater in 27 years"

That is really lovely, well done!

I'm so impressed ! I am utterly useless at all things crafty. Here's a pic of the crocheted blanket I started in 2013 on hearing I was to become a Granny - it's still on that very needle but I can't bring myself to throw it out. DGS is eight now !!
Ps. I bought him a beautiful blanket that he still has smile

I love it!

Purplepixie Fri 25-Nov-22 17:27:47

Thank you all so much for the wonderful kind words. Knitting keeps me sane! I do get really bad bouts of terrible depression.

Patsy70 Fri 25-Nov-22 17:24:47

Purplepixie. How very clever and creative of you. 💐

Oldbat1 Fri 25-Nov-22 17:13:48

Wow it is amazing. Hats off for knitting it with such gorgeous colours too. I like knitting but the sewing up puts me off as I’m not good at doing that. Husband suggests I keep to knitting scarves - I’ve never knitted a scarf by the way. You should be very proud.

Aren’t you clever. I think we should call you Nimble Fingers. Well done.

Grannybags Fri 25-Nov-22 17:06:22

Impressive! I have trouble casting on…grin

Witzend Fri 25-Nov-22 16:40:37

Goodness, that was really going at it! Really lovely jumper! 👏👏

Auntieflo Fri 25-Nov-22 16:39:38

Purplepixie, I guess you must come top of the class for knitting that beautiful sweater in record time.
It is really lovely, especially the sleeve pattern with the frilled cuffs.
Hope you are feeling better.

CocoPops Fri 25-Nov-22 16:31:39

Lovely pattern and yarn. A really useful sweater too.

merlotgran Fri 25-Nov-22 16:22:39

It’s lovely, Purplepixie. I agree with volver about the raglan sleeves.

merlotgran Fri 25-Nov-22 16:18:55

I have one still on the needles from over 20 years ago!

I’m going to show this to DD. Every time she visits she asks, ‘And how’s the gilet coming on?’

I started it last summer and finished knitting it just after Easter but I’m still only half way through sewing it up! ☺️☺️
