What Are your predictions? I think Tony will be the next to leave and that Asmaa will win. I think the other two have strengths and more flair than her but not her sewing skills.

I loved the jungle jacket too.

Asmaa is very good, perfectionist but very predictable in what she choses in make.
The others are more adventurous in their styles.
Still too close to call this year.

I was really hoping they would pick Mia's jacket for garment of the week. I love her creativity too.

By rights Asmaa should win for her sewing skills. And I'd hope so as a surgeon. I chose her in week one.
But if I were a fashion house, I would employ Mia for her flair and creativity. That see-through plastic cocktail dress was brilliant in structure, and her smoking jacket was so original in her choice of fabric and design.
I think her problem is the time constraints imposed by the programme, which is what the TV wants in order to create drama.

I loved the jungle print smoking jacket. I know it was too short, but it was a great idea.

Asmaa is a surgeon, as was a previous winner. I would rather hope that people in that role would be able to cut and sew very neatly!!

I enjoyed last night's episode. I am sure Mia's smoking jacket would have been garment of the week, except for the sewing errors. It had orginality and flair, as did her transformation. She might be the dark horse.

I’d love to see Mia win too but I’m guessing that she won’t, sadly.

I’m going to stick my neck out, and say I hope Mia eventually wins.

Asmaa will. Her sewing is excellent, but I find her a bit smug and priggish.

I am going to be politically incorrect, unwoke or whatever, but what occurred to me this week as I watched the last round was that, given that the theme was the 1990s and the last round was about the 1990s being the age of the super model and they had to design a super model dress, why were some of the models not super model shape, by that I mean tall and slim?

I have nothing in principle against having diverse models in the show, but in the childrens round, all the models were children, under 12. None of the children were gawky teenagers, or 2 years old. We all have a stereotype of what a 'child' is in these circumstances and that is what they used.

Supermodels were tall and very slim, so the models should all have been so, as well. If the argument is that diversity transcends everything, where was the transwoman model in the round?

On the subject of blankets - crocheted blankets are no longer required for refugees by Oxfam and Save The Children as they are too bulky to transport and impractical to use.

When I did voluntary work for SCF starting in the mid 80s our local library had a box for people to leave odds and ends of knitting wool which would be passed on to the ladies who or crocheted squares for blankets. When it became known that they were no longer needed there was quite an uproar from the grannies of that time and I think that the charities did lose some support.

The fact that the sewers had such a wide selection of blankets shows that they are not in such demand.

Yes, I wanted to see the back of Asmaa's dress.

Some fabulous dresses last night and Asmaa's was just stunning. I wish they had showed us the back as I wanted to see how she had done the straps.

I also liked the dress Mia made.

Megslotts You say he had some great ideas but everything he made (and wore himself) had a harness on. I would have liked to see something different.

I totally agree 👍 And it makes me dislike certain folks because I know they are only there for a certain reason, to irritate us & get us talking about them. And they send the wrong one home sometimes. I wish Matthew hadn't have gone home a couple of weeks ago though I thought he had great designs and ideas.

The scuba material wouldn't fray so I wondered if it even needed hemming?

Yes, the models were all lovely and looked so happy to be showing off the dresses.

I thought Mia's dress was better than the winning one which had a badly inserted zip which Patrick commented on, so it wasn't sewn as well as some of the others. Also that scuba fabric would be incredibly hot to wear, I would have thought.

Mia's dress and the dirndl dress (was that Lauren's?) were much better in my view and involved much more sewing than the winning one.

Glad Fauve has left, though.... I just couldn't warm to her at all. Also glad Harness Man has gone. Would not have liked to see a party dress with harness on it.

Aren't the child models sweet? I found myself smiling as they did their cat walk, especially the one who then did some ballet! Very cute.

Yep boring ! Switch it off every week. Why is the presenter there? Not funny, not clever and just gets in the way.

Yes. If I was up against the clock and stressed, I'd find SP incredibly annoying when she wanders round to make unfunny comments.

I loved the look of the winning dress. The bow was made beautifully, real catwalk superb.

However I did wonder how a dress like that would work in use. you know, wearing it at a party, with all the the rough and tumble that goes on or sitting in a restaurant and wriggling on a chair.

If my DGD was given a bolero to wear over a sleeveless dress she'd be stripping it off even in the middle of winter!
