Hi all.

I knitted this cardigan using ELVIS dk yarn on 4mm and 3.25mm knitting needles. I bought this yarn after coming out of hospital for major surgery (hysterectomy) and I never thought I would get it finished but I have. Tried several different types of buttons and ended up using these.
thank you for looking.

I might have a look out for the Harry Styles cardigan pattern.

Lovely cardigan and the stitching looks very even, unlike mine.

I downloaded the pattern for the Harry Styles cardigan because I thought I'd knit it for my DH That's as far as I've got.

I started to do the blue one with the back nearly finished and then I saw a crochet poncho pattern and now I am into that as well. My head is in “oh look a puppy mode” at the moment. I think I need retraining - haha! Good luck with your knitting Versavisa

Versavisa You are braver than me. I would have to buy enough of all four colours to make 4 cardigans or 4 sweaters. I look forward to seeing the end result. I am currently crocheting a poncho style top. Watch this space.

Although I have sent the other yarns back now I think in my heart it is only a temporary measure. I’m sure there will be more than one of these cardigans in my wardrobe before too long - but I need to do the first one soon.

Conundrum solved. I took all 4 balls up, opened my wardrobe doors and drawers, and hoped for inspiration!

It worked. I’ve gone to the top left one and the other three are already winging their way back.

Though I’m sure I shall have sleepless nights over this still.

Memo to self: it is only a cardigan

Two, then!

Both yarn cakes on the right.

My husband’s idea was to make 4 cardigans - hmmm!
Does he knit too? 😁

Bottom right.
But it depends on your colouring and what other colours you wear.

It looks the same as the Sirdar Colourwheel which I wanted, which was discontinued.
I must not buy more yarn. Repeat!

Trouble is they all go with what I wear - navy, denim, dark green, white, pinks and greys.

I’ve got 4 different balls of this yarn in front of me as I type. Going to make the same cardigan.

Which colourway to choose?? Every time I make up my mind I change it 30 seconds later!!

3 balls are definitely being returned today and exchanged but at the moment it’s anyone’s guess.

How wonderful that you were able to complete this cardigan after major surgery! The ELVIS dk yarn sounds lovely and your choice of buttons added beauty to your project. It is so important to have an activity that brings you joy and peace, especially during recovery.

That's lovely, Purplepixie.
I'm in awe.

Callistemon21 Thu 11-Apr-24 19:39:50

It's half the price of the Sirdar cakes (no longer available).

Purplepixie Thu 11-Apr-24 18:54:53

Thank you everyone for you kind words. Knitting keeps me sane.
Yes, download the photo if it helps. I bought the Elvis yarn from WoolWarehouse when it was on special offer for £3.95 instead of £7.20 for 150gram ball.

No, I haven’t washed it yet but I will be wearing it a few times before that.

Have a lovely evening everyone.
