Cushion cases, too.
I knit squares for Dementia Society they have other volunteers who put them together to make cuddle blankets such a worthy cause.
Tincan Knits is a really good site. You might want to have a look there?
I'm seeing a lot of crocheted bags popping up here and there. You could make a couple for yourself and friends or family.
I go yo YouTube for ideas, and particularly like Tuula Maaria and Hooked By Robin for ideas.

A pashmina is a big rectangular shawl that you wrap round your shoulders. A good alternative to a jacket on a cool day.

Ah. I thought it was something like that . I have a shelf full of shawls that I crocheted when I as at school! I sometimes wrap myself in one on a cool evening.
Thanks for the lovely ideas. My sister-in-law is going into hospital soon for a week. I might try and make a bed jacket, although time is a bit short.
My Mum loved lavender shades, pinks, mauves, violets etc
I crocheted her a big throw in all those colours. There were some large squares and some standard size but all different.
She loved it so much that when she died they wrapped her in it in her coffin because she had said in her end of life plan that she wanted to be wrapped up warm. The funeral director took photos and gave them to me in a sealed envelope which I have not looked at yet and she died in Dec 2020. One day I will be brave enough.

Get some cream to go with it and crochet a nice throw for the settee. Watch tv at the same time!

I'm not really sure what a "Pashmina" actually is.
I still have the banderoles on some of the wool so I can easily check what it is. It'll all be in German of course. I can also see if there are any charities I could do things for, but I've never heard of that sort of thing here in Germany.
Maybe I could crochet some baskets like this - they would make nice presents, filled with sweets or craft ideas or even just socks.

Ask Caritas.de or the nearest soup kitchen - the nearest Catholic church probably runs one - they do in Flensburg, but I don't know where you are under the heading Freitagssuppe für dürftige.
I like a cover on a hot water bottle.
Or a scarf if soft. I don't like old-lady-lavender either but may wear a scarf in it..
A knee blanket for an older person.
Hot water bottle covers?
Lots of ideas here on Etsy www.etsy.com/uk/market/crochet_hot_water_bottle_cover?
Though I like the basket idea - would be good gift/raffle prize with hand cream and hand soap for example.

How about crocheting a nice pashmina for yourself?
I love shades of lavender. You could maybe make a sweater and use it with another colour in bands. Or maybe make it with other yarn of similar weight into charity blankets. Or hats and scarves for charity. If you are considering crochet then why not a C2C blanket using other colours. Please let us know what you decide to do.
Hats! Make a lavender hat for yourself, and why not some for the grandchildren? Pom poms on top!
Do you know what the yarn is (ie is there a label left?). Failing that, if you know what weight it is (DK, Aran etc) you can get ideas from Ravelry. Click on the 'yarn' tab if you know what it is, then enter the name and it will come up with a description, and a number of projects made from it. If you click on that, you will find suitable patterns and see what they look like knitted up in your yarn.
If you don't know the exact yarn, click on the 'patterns' tab and then 'advanced search' and use the filters to enter the weight and anything else you want to include or exclude. Again, it will come up with lots of suggestions.
Lavender needn't be 'old lady'. You can jazz it up with nice jewellery or scarves. Or what about making a knitting bag, or bedsocks and matching HWB cover?
Baby cardigans and give to a charity that makes up baby bundles for new families who are struggling. Food banks often have info on this. Or search family support with new babies to find a charity in your local area.
I have a half-finished jumper which I started knitting decades ago. It wouldn't fit me now, so I am going to unravel it and make something else. I'm not really a very good knitter so I think I should crochet something.
It is a fairly thick, fluffy synthetic wool, nice to work with, but in old lady lavender. I can't think of anything I would wear these days which I could use it for.
Any suggestions - apart from a baby blanket? I don't think I'll be having any more grandchildren. I have 3 granddaughters (9, 5 and 1). They don't play with dolls.
