Hubby asked for a sweater to be knitted and he picked the wool. Knitting keeps me sane.

Terrific knits whywhywhy and Harris27.

I used to knit for DH, and now do a double take when I see DS and SiL in his jumpers. They can't have thought they were awful.

Not sure I feel like starting a big project in case I get ill again and can't finish it. (The only thing I couldn't cope with after my DM died was her unfinished project.) So I'm doing close-fitting fingerless gloves in a merino/silk/cashmere yarn for musicians sister and DiL who hate rehearsals in freezing churches.

Lucky hubby..it looks so cosy and a great colour..

Lovely colours! I've always got something on the go, too - right now, a purple sleeveless pullover for DH (chunky), a petrol blue one for me (DK) and a whole box of knitted squares I'm gradually sewing together for a poncho. Can't just sit and do nothing!

Thank you all so much for your kind words. Knitting really does keep me sane because I battle depression on a daily basis. Thank you.

You both knit beautifully!
I enjoy it but I'm not as neat as either of you.

I adore knitting, it's my one relaxing hobby, and I'm pretty decent at it. But when fairly newly married I knitted DH and I matching Aran sweaters, quite complicated. They were beautiful. DH tried his on (it fitted perfectly) and asked how much they had cost me, so I told him (not cheap of course). His reply was NOT "Thank you darling, it is beautiful" but "You could have gone one at half the price from XYZ". I unravelled it at once and threw it at him. I never knitted anything else for him.

When my DD was little I knitted a big cat for her. She loved it to bits but it wore into holes cos she pulled bits of wool off it, curled it in her finger and tickled her nose with it. Eventually her darling teddy bear had become threadbare so I used the "cat wool" to make him a jacket and hat. She is nearly 45 and still has the teddy and still curls the wool in her finger and tickles her nose. I'll have to knit him a new jacket!!!

Well done whywhywhy and Harris27. I like both colour choices.

I'm currently working on a pullover for my DD. I really had to look hard to find a pattern for drop shoulder instead of raglan sleeve. I haven't knit an adult sweater for quite a few years, and this one is plain stockinette stitch, so not too challenging.

I love to see other's finished projects.

I love that! What is the yarn you used, if you don’t mind sharing?

Try loom knitting. I can't get my head around knitting needles, but I can loom knit, also it's a lot kinder on finger/ joints.

I'm not sure about sane
Sometimes there's a bit of 🤬 when I'm 'frogging' some crochet or muttering when I'm counting.
