Inspiration for a non crafter please!

In July, my mum is visiting us (myself, my grown up daughters and two DGS) along with a French visitor. We have all met this lovely lady before and her English was always pretty good but as she’s got older her English has become rusty.
Embarrassingly, our French is practically non existant. So it’s a lot of pressure for her, bless her.
Mum and French lady will stay for a couple of hours and we will all have lunch together.
I would like to arrange a craft for us to all do to take the pressure off of just sitting and talking, but my crafting skills leave a lot to be desired!
I thought about buying plant pots for us all to decorate? I have some acrylic and posca pens here.
I could buy some soil and seedlings too.
I actually can’t think of anything else at all?
Can I have some ideas please?
Thanks

If only there for a few hours and having lunch why not just chat? Crafting? I find that a bit odd, sorry??? I personally would hate thatas I'm not into crafting in any way shape or form. Different if she and allof you are crafters and they are there fir the day,not a few hours.

I adore crafting and craft whenever I get the chance, but I would absolutely hate being forced into it when visiting someone.
A chat over lunch, a walk to the pub, and a drink sounds perfect. You really can’t go wrong with that.

Do you have any photos of your mum with the French guest or maybe and area of the UK that she particularly likes? If so I’m thinking that you could get it blown up in to a jigsaw as a gift for her and something to do as well. You can get them made online or I think Tesco do them also
We did this for a friend who was really pleased with it

Walk the village the day before and plan your route by the best gardens.

I think having a partly done jigsaw might be nice... it's very "drift-in drift out" so no pressure - but you will need space for it of course.

Decoupage using Mod Podge liquid is an easy activity. My daughter did a craft evening with friends, transferring top layer of pretty paper napkins onto oyster shells which made beautiful little bowls.

We often have a puzzle on the go to dip in and out of. I like that idea.

Also, I like the idea of buying her a puzzle. She loves the village where Mum lives so I will try and find a nice spot to take a photo to use.
I have definitely abandoned the crafting idea for us, however if the weather is bad I will set some up for the DGS’s and anyone wishing to ‘help’ them can.
We walked to the pub last night and I was far more aware of some of the beautiful houses we have here. So if it’s a nice day, a walk to the pub is definitely on the agenda.
LaTroisette I saw that on Pinterest. So pretty!
I might get the supplies to do that in the school holidays with my daughters and grandchildren.
