I decided it was too hot to crochet.

That's gorgeous. How you've managed to knit in this heat is beyond me. I remember knitting for babies when I was pregnant in summertime, kept having to go wash my hands in very cold water, but maybe it's only me that gets sweaty hands!

Absolutely in awe of your talent, I used to pay a colleague’s wife to knit Aran sweaters when my eldest two DS’s were small. I have attempted to knit but it never turns out the way it should. My friend’s mum always used to say if you can read, you can cook, knit or sew. I’m okay at cooking but not the other two
