Almost finished the first pair of socks, it really is enjoyable to be knitting all these socks in the same simple design

I have ordered a very special yarn and it won`t be going into stash. It is called `can`t I`m swamped 4 ply,` it was a one-off hand dye by the wee yarn company on a John Arbon blend

I am going to make the Breslin gansey for myself, I have made this pattern in the past, it is a looser gauge than the last gansey and much smaller. I loved that jumper but made it in loosely spun merino and it eventually wore out. After the socks, this will be my next knit project, nice during the Christmas break too

I am loving the knitting mojo, love that it comes back every year for the colder months

'What is on your needles' . Well my needles have embroidery thread for my cross stitch.

I have perfect gauge for another identical gansey, a different colour and a different make of yarn, this time it is Blackers yarn, not as soft as frangipani but still nice. I bought the wool months ago. This will be a perfect knit for me through the Christmas period and also best done while I remember the tricky bits

Anchor gansey by Blackers is the pattern. None of these jumpers weights are cheap, not when they are good wool, definitely worth looking after

I spent a bit of time yesterday, winding balls on my lykke from the swift, which holds the skeins. Had that equipment ages btw, for spinning. I made the swatch and washed in the machine with wool wash, blocked and only then measured this morning

I will have two items on the needles, I am on the second pair of socks with 7 pairs to go by Christmas plus the gansey which I will start today, in my size so a fair bit smaller

Just finished this for granddaughter. Moss stitch cardigan, pattern from Hobbycraft.

At the moment, I’m finishing the 2nd (final) sheep for the Nativity set. It’s supposed to be 3, but they are such a @%xx* fiddle!

Just started this knitted wreath. I hope to complete it within a couple of weeks, but it may have to be for next year!

I have made 9 pairs of socks with lovely regia 6ply yarn, they are beautiful, they settle after washing, machine wool wash and hovering over with a steam iron, just patting down with hands, to block. All are presents, everyone wanted a pair. I can now knit any size without a pattern but use a socker ruler for foot length

I easily had 2 pairs from 2 balls, including big size 12. I am making myself a pair from a leftover set of yarn, so generally 3 pairs from 2 balls, mine will have shorter legs to ensure I don`t run out of yarn

Next planned make is sleeve-less by Lone Kjeldsen, one for me and one for a dil. I have made the swatch, perfect gauge on 3.5mm

A triangular shawl for my granddaughter in a red, green, white and silver sparkle yarn.

This was my post last October.
I lost a lot of time last autumn as we had a crisis with Dad; he ended up in hospital, then a care home, then we moved him to a different care home.
However my granddaughter has been very patient! She's seen the work in progress and knows she will get her shawl when it's a good size. So I'm carrying on...

The latest is a Roll up, knit down jumper. They can dream. 😂

The first of a pair of woollen socks in three plain, to purl rib, until I get to the heel, whereafter the heel and sole will be in garter stich and the front of the foot in rib until I start the toe.

I really ought to start a doll's jumper soon, too.

On my needles - a simple little cross-body throw for a shepherd I'm working on for a church nativity scene.
