Susan Wokoma
Tom Wilson

I quite enjoyed it and it makes a change for Anton to actually win something. Not too sure about the last dress though as to how wearable it would be.

The programme was far better than last year's Christmas special.

You could spill a lot of champagne down that netting and no-one would notice.

I found it quite enjoyable, compared to much of the drivel and repeats that are on TV this Christmas.

I only knew Anton. He did very well, I think he must have picked up quite a lot of ideas from costume designers he has worked with. I didn't know the Gladiator, but he was very good to look at and seemed clever as well. The two women didn't register with me at all and I didn't know them any better by the end. I liked the new presenter. She didn't seem to spend the whole programme saying "Look at me being funny" like the last one.

Oh dear. What a disappointment the Christmas celebrity was. GBSB is one of the few programmes I really enjoy so I looked forward with eager anticipation to this one-off. Please, please can we do without the presenter. I'd never heard of Sophie Willan before. Not someone I can relate to. And a total unnecessary distraction from what is happening in the sewing room. I'm understand she has many talents but these do not fit GBSB. Just my opinion, of course.

Lucy was very funny I like her and I thought the gladiator did well too it was pretty light weight though but better than nothing

It’s on the iplayer BlueBelle I’ve just finished watching it.

Just looked up Sophie Willan, what a remarkable background she had. I’ll forgive her dodgy dress 😀

She had her son on November 30th.

If you don’t mind Swearing ( and there’s a lot) watch her in Alma’s Not Normal.

JamesandJon33 Thu 25-Dec-25 09:26:39

Utterly loved the cow costume .

Sparklefizz Thu 25-Dec-25 08:49:40

SPOILER ALERT

What woman would want to wear the dress Anton designed with the profile making her look 9 months pregnant, albeit with a high-slung bump? It only looked ok from the front, sideways on it looked dreadful.

Oh has it been ! Missed that

I really enjoyed it. A very close call, but I think they chose the right winner.
The presenter who I didn’t know, was much better than others imho, but I wish she had worn a dress in a colour that suited her!

Just watched it and loved the new presenter. A breath of funny fresh air from the previous one. Happy Xmas everyone.

It is just meant to be a bit of light hearted entertainment. Does it really matter who the celebrities are or whether or not you've heard of them Just watch with festive spirit and enjoy or be a Grinch and do something else.

Exactly, it is a bit of fun, but it is a total misnomer to call it 'celebrity' Sewng Bee, when no one has heard of the people taking part. To be a 'celebrity' you have to be well known within the audience you attract. I doubt using celebrities only known, for example, to the 15-25 year olds is going to mean lots of people in that age group watch a programme like this.

I think we should complain to Ofcom smile

It's "Celebrity" everything at the moment!

Why? Ever single programme on BBC or ITV seems to have a celebrity version on this Christmas, two-thirds of whom we've never heard of.

Is it supposed to make it more interesting for viewers?
A Christmas bonus for celebs who might be a bit short of cash?
Keeping them in the spotlight?

All very well to say there is an Off button but sometimes watching tv is good relaxation an we don't want to be bombarded with our usual programmes turned into a Celebfest.

Just call me Grumpy!

Like Strictly, I work on the theory that I should know half the celebs on today's Sewing Bee, and that in my DGD's house, they'll recognise the other half, and so are more likely to watch. George's wide young fan base as an influencer, on Strictly supports that? He said on Saturday, he'd never been on TV before.
Surely it's to deliberately broaden the appeal.

It's on tonight on BBC1 at 7.25 pm.

Strange time but that's the BBC for you!

It is hardly 'celebrity' Sewing Bee when most of us haven't heard of any of the contestants or the presenter.

Please Ladies get your facts straight - the contestant is Tom Wilson who is on Gladiators - about as different from Tom Read Wilson as you can get

Oh b***er

I hope he's wearing some clothes, whoever he is.

I love Tom Read Wilson and I would sooner watch him than a lot of sewing and I'm a 70 year old Grandma!

He's grown on me 😁

This entire show is a joke..I would be embarrassed to expose any of the garments as my own work.
Typical Beeb, everything dumbed down and silly.

You haven't watched Game of Wool, have you! 😂

Wyllow3 Fri 19-Dec-25 19:24:56

So when is it on?

I just like anything Sewing Bee.

petra Fri 19-Dec-25 19:13:12

My friends and I have a mini Tom Read Wilson fan club. We adore him ❤️

BlueBelle Fri 19-Dec-25 19:09:17

Freya according to him he made the voice up a long time ago and can ‘do’ lots of accents and voices 🤣believe what you will
Of course there’s an off button Sue but not a lot to choose from and paying a license should at least give some good variety not the same ole same ole

sue421 Fri 19-Dec-25 19:02:46

Celebrity Traitors was excellent, they added to the show. I had never watched it before. Other celebrity programmes I don't watch unless someone I like is in it! Tom Wilson I really like him. The others are nice people. Everyone has a remote so take your choice
