Hi
I made this mitred bed cover from chunky yarn from my stash.
Thanks for looking.

I wish I had your talent - it must be so satisfying.

*diagonally

When I knitted mine, I worked diago ally after having knitted the first 3 squares, picking up from two sides on either side of each square, so I had no sewing up to do. Hope that makes sense.

If I find my pattern instructions I'll post it.

I knitted the borders.
Thanks.

I tried making a mitred blanket from stash but got in a bit of a pickle with it and abandoned it.

Well done!

The mitred squares are knitted together in long lengths. I’m sure there’s an easier way but that’s how I did mine. Then I sewed up the lengths. Thank you to everyone for your kind words.
It’s on YouTube if that helps.

purplepixie That's beautiful, love the colours. That must have taken ages to do

Flippinheck you actually join them as you go along I can’t even explain it but maybe OP will come back and explain it better than I could or google it.

Love the colours and admire your skill. It looks so even. How did you join the squares?

Lovely, it looks very cosy.

Really lovely! Do you crochet around the edge, or is it knitted?

What I like most about mitred knitting is that you don't have to sew up squares.

Wow! that is so lovely, I once made a baby blanket using the mitre method it takes a lot of concentration so well done you.

a very beautiful and colourful cover. Looks lovely and you will be glad you have taken a picture of it. write the date down too, so that in years to come you and your family can look back at it and remember when you made it. Cant think of the name of it at this moment but there was a good book I think written by Sally Vickers , where it follows 2 quaker sisters who go to america to avoid persecution and how they are passed along the line of people and the quilt makers . You might enjoy it and if I remember its name I will let you know. Well done , great work

When I saw the word 'mitred' I imagined a fitted cover with box corners.
A lot of work has gone into that and it should be nice and warm. Take care when you wash it though, as it will be heavy.
