Hi all
I’ve just finished this sweater for myself.
King Cole Super Chunky Celestial
King Cole pattern 6207
Moonlight Marine

Knitting keeps me sane.🤯😤

You will get so many compliments on that beautiful sweater! How many hours would you say it took to complete? It's really lovely!

Purplepixie Fri 15-May-26 09:03:57

Thank you. I never count the hours that I knit. The pattern is actually quite easy.

Another wonderful creation.
I love the colour and the design.
It's the kind of sweater that one wears walking along the beach in the UK enjoying the bracing weather!

Knitting really is your forte
It's never going to be mine! I have dreams of being able to knit a twinset .
I had so much trouble extracting myself from the church group which knits squares for blankets .
I do the flowers and that makes me very happy !

Beautiful! How talented you are Purplepixie.

Really beautiful ! Design, colour- and execution!
I so miss my mother in law’s skill in this area, hand knits are just things of classic beauty - you should definitely wear it with pride ☺️

Beautiful in every aspect.

Janetashbolt Sun 17-May-26 14:10:27

I had 4 siblings Mum knitted jumpers for all of us I particularly remember the arran ones we all had including Dad

sukie Sun 17-May-26 14:11:13

Just beautiful!! You should wear that with pride smile

Lovely work! I'm jealous how very neatly you pick up the neck stitches, mine are never that good.

Great job! Agree about the stitch pick up. I always think I spoil things by the way I pick up stitches around the neck or the front bands for buttonholes.
About to embark on an Arran sweater for a child but wondering if my slightly arthritic hands will be able to manage it again.

That looks really good. Knitting keeps me sane too, I love knitting whilst listening to an audio book. Just finished the latest volume of Alan Bennett Diaries.

I am no judge of these things, but it looks absolutely wonderful to me!
I went to a first class local art exhibition a couple of years ago, and you could put in sealed bids for the best pictures. DH put one in for one I admired - and it became ours! The village raised many hundreds in total for a particular charity meaningful to its community.
Maybe other creations showing such levels of skill could achieve the same....

Looks great and reminds me of when I used to knit Aran jumpers until I got the inherited condition called Dupytren Contraction

Rocketstop2 Sun 17-May-26 16:48:05

Clever clever clever. Am so envious of your skill.

Wyllow3 Sun 17-May-26 16:57:36

You clever lady, it’s quite beautiful and a gorgeous colour! How well will it wash and dry?

Secondwind Sun 17-May-26 21:00:20

Beautifully knitted. ☺️

CanadianGran Sun 17-May-26 21:00:49

Beautiful! I just looked up the pattern and see that it comes in a vest version as well. Might put it on my winter knitting list!

JaneJudge Sun 17-May-26 21:04:47

perfection

Beautiful and a really lovely colour. I'm knitting a white cardigan for my great granddaughter but the pattern is far simpler. I'm also crocheting a blanket for my granddaughters baby due in July.

fancyflowers Mon 18-May-26 07:51:49

That looks complicated, with all the different cabling, so you have done a great job. Well done!

knspol Mon 18-May-26 10:46:46

Is there a secret to picking up stitches around the neck line etc?

Purplepixie Mon 18-May-26 12:46:08

Thank you all so much. I’ve knitted for a lot of years and I do battle depression and horrible black dog days.
I try and pick up the neck as nearly as possible and take my time over it. 🤗
