grin Aka. Have a happy birthday!

Have said before, huff on the mirror it takes 10 years off.

Nelliemoser Thu 23-Jan-14 08:33:30

* soutra* spot on! Joan Collins might be wrinkle free but she does not look young. She looks just like a face lifted botoxed older woman.

Aka Thu 23-Jan-14 07:47:19

Stand on your head? hmm

NfkDumpling Thu 23-Jan-14 07:40:34

Any tips for surplus skin? My face is getting saggier by the day.

Drink plenty of water and practise yoga. Works for me anyway smile

Choose your parents!!

No one's advocating plastic surgery though, are they? We're just sharing the odd tip about moisturisers etc - a bit of a difference!

Soutra Wed 22-Jan-14 19:07:05

Can't really argue with that ana I just feel there are more important things in life than the odd (and some of mine are very odd ) wrinkle. They are the reflection of our life's experiences and an smiling "old" face is to me something to rejoice in.
Compare:
Joan Rivers and Judi Dench
Joan Collins and e.g. the Queen

And I think you might get my point!

Ana Wed 22-Jan-14 18:56:56

Well, we can all make the best of ourselves (if we want to) while appreciating the fact that we aren't dead yet...hmm

Kiora Wed 22-Jan-14 18:55:32

No Soutra it's not flippant I say it all the time. I think I'm trying to cheer myself up! wink

Ana Wed 22-Jan-14 18:37:46

We might as well make the most of whatever we've got left while we still can though - what's wrong with that?

Soutra Wed 22-Jan-14 18:33:04

Is it flippant to say that ageing is a h*ll of a lot better than the alternative?

eliza Wed 22-Jan-14 16:09:56

I have deep lines either side of my mouth, that I hate and I have never smoked.

I was told that early menopause cause the deep lines but who knows what causes them

I can get rid of them when I am willing to make the effort--I buy Garnier firming cream, it really does work for me and I can see the difference in a week, -- have taken before and after pics

I agree with Twiggy a fringe is great because it hides the wrinkles on your forehead! smile

Ella46 Sun 31-Mar-13 19:32:18

Ana and sunflower , thank you smile

Ella46 Sun 31-Mar-13 19:31:27

Audrey, apart from Botox/fillers for those deep lines, which I wouldn't want, I can only say "keep smiling" and no one will notice! smile

I gave up on the grey coming through and went back to the "Nice & Easy" in no 98 very pale blonde, thing is it works out expensive as I have to use 2 boxes with the length of my mop,I just did not like the grey colour with my complextion it made me look constantly ill.
I can't manage without moisturiser everyday and use Liz Earl and her face wash with the muslin cloth's but after reading above I will try superdrugs brand.

Audreyab Sun 31-Mar-13 16:57:58

Phoenix i was worried about the grey coming through and at first it did look different but after a while it does look quite good once a few have come through be brave smile

If anyone has any tips for dropping face I would be so grateful.... the sides of my mouth have deep lines but other people of my age do not have them, I read somewere that it can happen if you have early Menapause, which I did

I know someone on here said that creams don't help but I do believe that they do as they actually work on me, when I don't use them things are much worse, I use Loreal firming cream

Thanks Ella, will bear that in mind too when I run out.

I agree your hair looks fantastic, I like the way you've done your eye make up too. I know mine comes through more stripey grey and faded brown. Maybe in another year or so it will all be grey and I'll give up the dye. Just not yet.

Ana Sun 31-Mar-13 16:44:43

Your hair looks gorgeous, Ella! envy

Ella46 Sun 31-Mar-13 16:35:10

sunflower and celeb, Superdrug also do a hot cloth facewash with Vit.E, which is cheap and doesn't dry my skin.
In fact they do a range of Vit.E stuff which is very good value.

I stopped having highlights in my hair about a year ago, and as it is going nicely white around my face, I quite like it. (see my recent pic on my profile)
