Am I alone in being irritated by the regular updates on Radio 4 news on the latest sex accusations against Bill Cosby?
He's on a tour of N America and there are demos outside the theatres - this morning we were treated to a piece from Toronto interviewing fans and demonstrators; previously there have been the same from other locations.
The Cosby Show was popular here in the 80s but he's hardly a national treasure in the UK or even that well known on this side of the pond. I can understand the odd mention here and there, or if he was charged, but this regular update in prime-time news?
Why does the BBC, and others, think we are interested?
Janet and John books trigger warning 😳

If it serves as a warning that sex offenders look like the rest of us, are often entertaining, charming and even likeable then maybe that's not entirely a bad thing.
