That's not what it's for-but it works!

Today I used some left over from Christmas cranberry jelly on my toast instead of jam. It worked very well and is much better than leaving the jar in the fridge to throw out sometime in November. I use very little jam-just an occasional fancy- so it seems an ideal solution. So I wondered do any of you use something for a purpose it wasn't designed for? If so please share.

Love the idea of cheese rind in soups and casseroles. Will try it next time. Thanks for the tip.

I'm an all year round cranberry sauce person. Roast chicken must have. And with Brie in sandwiches too.

I would do the cheese rind thing but I'm scared I would forget to take it out! Remember when I was much younger having friends round and I had made a casserole with a Bouquet Garni thing like a teabag in it, forgot to take it out and of course friend got it!
