I suggested Scotland but that was not well received .that was in June 2015 that I know he had them. I'm cracking up.

They are with all the pens and single socks
I'll just go and check the bag in my airing cupboard .....

Not there, sorry!!

I only buy cheap ones so many of mine have cleared off there, well I used to until I found I couldn't see very far and I couldn't see to read menus!!

I need one of those granny chains to wear around my neck, but I may end up looking like an old granny. grin

If you get a couple of pairs of specs AlieOxon, they're mine.

trisher Wed 04-May-16 10:09:29

OK who out there is getting the sunglasses? Come clean!

AlieOxon Wed 04-May-16 09:31:06

- and pencils

AlieOxon Wed 04-May-16 09:30:40

The alternative universe sends back rubber bands and paper clips, to me...

obviously there is an alternative universe entirely filled with sunglasses. I only buy cheap ones so many of mine have cleared off there.

Surely, they are somewhere with MY husband's sunglasses!

Jalima Tue 03-May-16 19:31:10

I should have said reactolite varifocals
(cost more than any other specs I have ever had)

Jalima Tue 03-May-16 19:30:16

I expect his presciption has changed anyway Stansgran!

They could be in the same place as my prescription Varifocals (although I think someone filched mine from a cafe table in Sliema - I expect they had a shock when they tried them! Hope they tripped over a paving slab [naughtythought])

You will have checked all his outdoor jackets, anoraks etc and their inside pockets?
DH keeps his sunglasses in the car glove box but I know you have already checked that. It's a certainty that they will turn up once you stop looking!

pollyperkins Tue 03-May-16 18:28:44

Bedside drawer, under a lot of other stuff? In side pocket in suitcase ? Probably on the first place you looked!

Nelliemoser Tue 03-May-16 18:28:32

Well this is reassuring, I am not alone. I have well earned reputation for leaving my belongings here there and everywhere.

Could the sunglasses be under my baby grandson's car seat? That's where my mobile turned up, without me ever going anywhere in their car with them that day.

We always ask the house poltergeist to return things- you'd be surprised how often it works.

Gaggi3 Tue 03-May-16 17:52:02

Just remembered the time DH put shoes out for cleaning in a v. smart hotel in South Africa. They were returned, beautifully cleaned, wrapped in tissue, in a nice box, along with DH's mobile phone, which must have been in one of them.
DD also sent her keys along with a pair of shoes she was returning. The company kindly sent the keys back.

So he's bought a pair of clip on ones (£15!!!!)as The Lost Ones were prescription . I immediately found the folding rucksack unfolded with very old sandwich wrappings in. But still no glasses so I'm going to try the forehead thing.

My neighbour has lost car keys and another neighbour lost a mobile phone, at our suggestion they checked toy boxes and guess what ? bottom of toy box.

Wonder if they're with the pair of low heeled nude patent shoes I've lost? . . . . .

Icyalittle Tue 03-May-16 13:45:25

I'm pretty sure I've got them, there are 32 (32!) pairs in one of my drawers. Goodness knows where we have accumulated them from, though I have a knack of finding the damn things when we are out walking in the hills. But I'm blowed if I can find my last set of prescription ones.

I lost my car keys a few weeks ago, having rushed into the house in urgent need of a comfort break. Searched every pocket in my bag (there are lots), the basket of cleaning stuff in the loo, then with increasing panic: the fridge, etc.... the garden .... gave up and replaced front door locks. Found a man with a computer who could sort car key situation and, at his suggestion, waited a few days in case they turned up.

Two days later, DH "Shall I have another look in your bag?" Me: "Huh, you can if you want to, but they're not there." DH: "Are these the ones?"

blush

Retrolady Tue 03-May-16 12:13:02

In that awkward gap between the car seat and the door?

In amongst the forgotten and unused heap of shopping bags in the boot of your car?

If he's actually in the car, under his bum?

Frannygranny Tue 03-May-16 12:11:09

Maybe they're with the great card I bought for my friend's birthday and which I've just spent the last hour looking for. When you find them could you please return the card to me! ?

Greyduster Tue 03-May-16 12:02:49

On a recent fishing trip, I could not find my reading glasses (without which I can't see to tie on the flies!) anywhere in my bag, so DH lent me his. At the end of the day when we got back home, I looked in my bag and found not one but two pairs of my reading glasses. I was very pleased until DH said "can I have mine back now?" blush. After emptying out bag, pockets and inside of car, It transpired I had dropped them into one of my rod tubes and thrown it in the boot! But I didn't find out until three days later when I took the rod out to clean it! Couldn't remember doing it! Shall I check my rod tubes again, just in case ?......?

Gaggi3 Tue 03-May-16 11:45:42

They are obviously with my DH's reading glasses. They are often lost, sometimes found. When they are found he always says "You can relax now". So kind.

Try this. It works whether you believe it will or not:

Extend the index and middle fingers of both hands.
Place the finger tips lightly on your forehead about half an inch above your eyebrows.
Close your eyes and breathe deeply through your nose for three slow breaths.
Open your eyes, remove your fingers from your forehead and you will walk straight to the thing you have mislaid. You don't need to think about the thing.

This is a 'brain gym' thing. If I lost anything in the classroom, the children would say, "Do the forehead thing, Mrs L!" It worked every time smile Give it a try!
