Does anyone know of a mattress topper that COOLS rather than one for comfort please?

The problems with mattress toppers is that they are very dense and no air can flow through to keep you cool, Ive never found one that can keep you cool, to be honest you might be better off looking for a new mattress, depending on how much you are prepared to pay for a topper.

You can get cooling toppers from back specialist shops like this one

There is a selection of gel cooling mats available for beds. I use several pillow sized Chillows in my bed to roll onto or pull towards me when I get hot. For comfort I have an Octospring mattress topper, which is great and not hot.

Soak and Sleep do one that contains a silk mixture and it's very 'cool.' It's not particularly expensive. I've had one for 18 months and have used it throughout the summer.

Sorry, link shows only the most expensive. Click on 'see all 7 results' to see more reasonable ones.

Talking of mattresses, does anyone know where you can buy protective covers for mattresses which protect them from dust when stored? I have tried various big department stores with no effect. I have a couple I only need to bring out when there is a surfeit of grandchildren and would like to find covers for them. Ideally I am looking for a waterproof type zip on cover which keeps out the dust.

I have you tried Dunelm Mill? They seem to sell most things and at a reasonable price.

Many thanks everyone. I used Chillows for years and recently changed to another brand. I am going to follow up suggestions as I want something to over the whole of the mattress. Will post again when decision made!

I bought a mattress cover from Dunelm Mill. Can't remember how much it cost, but it can't have been very expensive.
