I only want to buy a tablespoon!

Just an ordinary tablespoon- maybe 2. I don't want a tablespoon measure- I have several.
I just want a plain metal tablespoon. It doesn't seem much to ask really.
I have looked in every kitchen shop in every town I have shopped in for the last year or so. I have looked online- I can buy 12 for about £30 but I only want one or 2.
Every site I have looked at wants to sell me lovely coloured sets of measuring spoons. I have those but I like a proper tablespoon that gets down to the bottom of the flour or sugar container.

Anybody know where I can get one please? If you have a local shop they may do mail order if I ring them & ask nicely (I can do nicely!) or I may have a branch near here (Surrey/ Kent/ Sussex borders) that I have missed.
I'm putting my faith is Grans- they never let you down.

If you have a Wilkinsons store near you they sell cutlery as individual pieces. Or on line. One stainless steel tablespoon £2.00.

I bought some nice loose ones for a dd in John Lewis.
They sell all sorts of cutlery separately.

My local Indian food store sells table spoons singly.

I was looking for plain tablespoons for my DIL. I wasn't sure about the quality of those on ebay so wanted to "feels them. Mine were from Lakeland years ago, ( wonderful quality) but too far away now. Luckily by chance. I found a box of 2 quality spoons in TKMax for £4.00.

I regularly use charity shops when looking for small items , many appear to be brand new or little used, so I'm sure Craftycat will find what they are looking for.

I know it's been suggested before but try Wilkinsons

Try a local car boot sale or house clearance sale. Good luck in your quest - I couldn't be without mine and they're all ancient!

sussexoldbag Wed 08-Feb-17 14:27:46

I think someone has already suggested it but Wilkinsons (Wilko) is where I got mine. If you have one locally they are good and inexpensive, but if not you have to factor in the delivery cost.

I had the same problem, in the end I got mine in Trago Mills, sorry they're only in the West Country. I did find many that I looked at were too expensive, I also have proper measures if I'm baking etc

marionk Wed 08-Feb-17 12:36:05

I bought teaspoons in wilco so they might be worth a try for tablespoons

Diddy1 Wed 08-Feb-17 12:23:35

In a Charity shop, or a stall in a market, or in one of those old fashioned ironmongers that sell everything. You wont have to pay a fortune, and they sell individual cutlery

mazgoli Wed 08-Feb-17 11:32:00

I was looking for a tablespoon a couple of years ago and was astounded that they weren't readily available, in the end I found one in Wilkos.
