I got fed up with my DH being a fussy eater so I stopped cooking for him. He has to sort himself out for 90% of his meals. (He does eat quite a lot of tins of soup but that's his choice!)

How would Mr P feel about that?

Yes, I suppose no one is right or wrong Ana, but what makes it even more confused is the fact that once everything is ready, meat rested, veg drained etc, it's actually HIM that dishes up!

Oh! I would prepare enough of whatever you fancy veg wise and just do frozen peas for Mr P net weekend grin He'll get the message!

I just did a recipe which included roast avocado..I won't be doing that again confused

If that is the normal menu for a weekend and Mr.P is not too happy, I am more than willing to pop down each weekend with Tara. I think from memory you have cats so that may be a slight problem. I am good at washing up.

I am sure he gets no fruit or vegetables during the week so he is eating healthily at weekends. He is lucky and should be counting his blessings. Amazing that his plate was empty but he had been given too much food!

I think he is a nit picker !!

Surely it's just a matter of opinion - neither of you is 'right' or 'wrong'...hmm

Well it sounds wonderful to me! I don't think you can have too much veg and you've just reminded me of how long it's been since I had bami goreng yum.

All sounds perfectly balanced to me, I always do more choice of veg on Sundays than I probably would for a weekday meal.

Evening all,

Mr P is currently away from Monday morning until Friday afternoon, with no access to a kitchen and a limited budget for eating out.

So, when he IS home, I try to do reasonably healthy food.

Friday. Sweet chili chicken, bami goreng, small salad on the side.

Saturday. Grilled ribeye steak (on special offer in Lidl) jacket potato, salad.

Sunday. Chicken parcels (a chicken breast, a quality chipolata sausage on top, wrap the whole thing in bacon, bung in dish and roast) roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese (not a whole cauliflower, just cut off a few decent sized florets) leeks, mashed swede, stuffing, a few carrots for me (he's not keen on carrots confused) gravy, of course.

He says I do too many different veg, I disagree!

I prep them all, (apart from the potatoes, somehow we have got into the habit of doing them together, him peeling, me chopping ready for par boiling, while listening to the omnibus edition of the Archers blush )

I feel that he eats some pretty crap food while away, so like to feel that I'm at least giving him something halfway decent when he's at home!

BTW, he did say he enjoyed his meal, just that there was a bit too much. Didn't see anything left on the plate though.........
