I'm rather on the plump side but my hands look really old and scrawny. When I straighten my fingers, the veins on the back of my hands look like 3 ropes on the back of my hands. The skin looks very thin and papery too. I've always used good handcreams but it's not made any difference. It's a shame that we can have face lifts if we want to, but we can't do anything about the aging of our hands.

Lucky, ageing? I have had protruding veins on my hands and inner arm for as long as I can remember., (probably became conscious of them in my teens). The only upside is when I go for blood tests and the nurses say 'Ooh, lovely veins!' I didn't wear nail varnish when young but do occasionally now. Wear your nail varnish and forget about the veins!

I can't think of any thing as horrible as spray tan on your hands and those tinted moisturises always die the wrinkly bits darker than the rest ........... as for red nail varnish !!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Jalima I have an appointment with my GP this week about my awful skin. I have always looked after my skin and I am annoyed that it is now bright red and spotty. I'll see what she says and if she can't give me anything, it will have to be a cover up job.

KatyK I think Avene do a tinted moisturiser which I used to use as I used to get red patches on my face.
And Boots do a hand cream which is supposed to get rid of age spots.

Neither are as expensive as some other makes and I think Boots do samples of Avene green tinted moisturisers, a kind assistant in a large store gave me quite a lot to try out years ago.

Oh thanks for that Ana I am looking for camouflage make up for my face (roseacia) I was wondering where to get some. I will take a look at Vichy. My hands are awful too, veiny and horrible but I have so many other things wrong, my hands are the least of my problems!!

I don't actually think fake tan looks good on old hands and feet.

You can get camouflage makeup which won't rub off if you want to even out the skin tone on your hands. I think Vichy do one (various shades) and there must be many other brands.

Why on earth would anyone want a fake tan? You could end up looking like Donald Trump!

I too found spray tan impossible, messy and very difficult to get an even effect. Aerosol mousse is much easier (Boots do one). You just spray a glob of it onto your leg and then with a thin latex glove on rub it hard all over that area. It's much easier to get an even effect and it's a very pleasant creamy texture so easy to rub in.

You all are so knowledgeable I'm hoping for practical advice.

I've hands which have bent fingers (osteoarthritis), obvious tendons and veins sad. Any rings I have, would have to be enlarged, so I can slide them over my middle joints.

I've started to wear nail polish, then wondered if a spray tan could make them look betterconfused The nail polish doesn't make the veins disappear, it gives me a little self confidence.

I already use a cheap foundation to cover veins on my feet and legs when wearing sandals.I tried spray tan
on my feet and legs: Took ages to get bathroom crannies de-tanned smile
