I agree with so many of these comments. It's best not to become embittered at some of the bad stuff that life will inevitably throw at you.
Despite being widowed I still enjoy hearing love songs on the radio. when I see a young couple I think of that lovely song from The King and I, "Hello Young Lovers" which was sung by the widowed heroine of the story, "don't cry because I'm alone, all of my memories are happy tonight, I've had a love of my own."
I've got lots of good memories and I try to be open and friendly to others though I'm not looking for a new partner. We were all young once and I enjoy the quieter pleasures of life, such as a sunny day, a new flower opening in the garden, a rattling good book and the occasional concert.
