The question is can, no, dare I wear orange tights with this dress?

Penstemmon

I can't believe that, my penstemmons are waving tall and gracefully in the wind.

Orange tights are never a good idea, but very brave of you OP to want to wear them.

Penstemmon Fri 09-Jun-17 18:00:58

Go for it Baggs I love coloured tights but I have short fat legs so not such a good look on me:#bagoforanges.
If you are tall with long legs..not a problem!

Bellanonna Fri 09-Jun-17 17:13:01

Faye, OP said navy or green.
LuckyFour: unnecessary

Faye Fri 09-Jun-17 16:51:24

No to the orange, wear nude tights or bare legs. If you wear the orange tights what coloured shoes would you wear?

harrigran Fri 09-Jun-17 12:58:02

How very rude.

LuckyFour Fri 09-Jun-17 12:01:43

Don't be ridiculous!

We used to get a pair of new white plimsolls at Whitsun and, when they'd gone grubby and scuffed, my mother used to "paint" them with a bottle of whitener that dried into a thick, inflexible coating. They looked OK but it was like wearing a couple of cardboard boxes on your feet!

Baggs Sun 04-Jun-17 21:49:27

Sob!! My mum wouldn't even buy white ankle socks! Too difficult to keep white was the idea. Just occasionally my aunty would buy my sister and me some white socks. Real treasure they were!

Which reminds me, did anyone else just lurve those sticky labels they used to pair up socks with in shops? I used to stick mine on my bed.

marionk, my sister-in-law, always very neatly turned out, has some yellow shoes.

Jalima1108 Sun 04-Jun-17 21:46:35

grin

No tights in those days though, just white ankle socks.

Sometimes we got colourful plastic sandals for the summer hols though, partly so we could paddle in the sea in them, I think.

Baggs Sun 04-Jun-17 21:44:50

You lucky blighter! Sandal envy ?

Jalima1108 Sun 04-Jun-17 21:42:17

I had red and occasionally blue!

Baggs Sun 04-Jun-17 21:39:37

jalima, that's exactly what I thought when I pounced on them in a shop! We only had brown when we were kids though.

marionk Sun 04-Jun-17 20:39:45

If you chicken out of orange tights then go for orange shoes/sandals. I love orange and am wearing orange sandals this summer

mimiro Sun 04-Jun-17 19:55:29

tights are great fun and should be enjoyed
i have a couple dozen in all sorts of colors and patterns
no shiny ones tho
orange would look great with the cross thread in the fabric rock on

Jalima1108 Sun 04-Jun-17 19:49:11

I like them - they remind me of my Clark's sandals!

DanniRae Sun 04-Jun-17 19:01:26

I just looked at the shoes - let me just say they are NOT something I would wear an leave it at that (but they do look comfortable).

baubles Sun 04-Jun-17 17:31:00

Whad'ya'mean could, baubles!?

Emphasis on you not could Baggs wink

harrigran Sun 04-Jun-17 16:45:41

My daughter had to wear yellow dungarees for a job and she couldn't keep the straps on her shoulders as she is such a skinny minnie.

Baggs Sun 04-Jun-17 16:34:12

No. I decided the straps would slip off my shoulders all the time. This is the trouble with pictures of models posing in clothes: they aren't doing anything. My clothes have to cope with quite a lot of demands!

oldgoat Sun 04-Jun-17 16:18:47

By the way baggs did you ever buy that yellow rompers suit with the wide straps?

Baggs Sun 04-Jun-17 16:06:31

rambling, I wouldn't call the dress bright at all. The overall impression is quite staid really.

Just like me ?
