The question is can, no, dare I wear orange tights with this dress?

Ceesnan Sat 03-Jun-17 07:52:01

Absolutely!! Go for it smile

cornergran Sat 03-Jun-17 07:56:00

Of course smile.

Yes x

If you have the confidence to wear them i would say yes as it has orange in the lines on the fabric.

M0nica Sat 03-Jun-17 08:54:31

It is not whether the tights would go with the fabric, it is whether orange tights are a good idea, full stop.

What colour orange? Day glow orange, like a motorway worker? A lovely warm autumnal orange? A yellow or greeny orange? What colour and style are the shoes you will wear?

I am the last person to suggest age appropriate dressing or recommend shades of beige, but try and imagine your reactions if you saw someone, any age, dressed in the combination, you have in mind then, if you go ahead, wear them but forget about them. The worst combination is someone dressed with pzazz, but is obviously not entirely sure it was a good idea and goes round looking embarrassed.

Any colour you fancy😃 you'll look fabulous.

rosesarered Sat 03-Jun-17 09:00:49

American tan? grin

rosesarered Sat 03-Jun-17 09:02:04

I would wear navy tights with the dress bags smile

MawBroon Sat 03-Jun-17 09:03:42

I am assuming opaque tights of course. Why not.
Teal would be good too. And from pics I have seen go well with your colouring.
Shoes are what colour?

Alima Sat 03-Jun-17 09:14:38

Fancy dress? Sorry, couldn't resist but there again I am an introvert!

tanith Sat 03-Jun-17 09:23:05

Tights are so uncomfortable especially in muggy weather could you not just go bare legged ? Sorry if I'm not being helpful but I never could abide tights it's bare legs for me .

Jalima1108 Sat 03-Jun-17 09:24:38

I don't know because I don't know how daring you are!
However, if you are very daring then yes - and dye your hair bright orange too grin

I was thinking about the other thread (s) about hair dyes.

Auntieflo Sat 03-Jun-17 09:25:39

Think Mary, as on Gogglebox. Last night she was wearing bright orange tights with a patterned dress/skirt.

Baggs Sat 03-Jun-17 11:27:12

m0nica, the colour orange that occurs in the dress, of course. If I can find any.

DD does have some rust coloured bamboo tights (so not claggy like synthetics) that she thinks will go and that I can borrow. She also has bamboo tights in navy. I don't own tights as I so rarely wear dresses and when I do I tend to go for leggings and socks because (a) my feet are nearly always cold, and (b) then I can wear proper (foot-kindly as in flat) shoes or boots.

tanith, wish I could go bare-legged but it would spoil the dress grin and see above about cold feet.

This outfit-think is all about my mum's eighty-eighth birthday gathering in a month's time. If it really is hot down in the sub-tropics (Lancashire) I could wear an old but still nice dress that I haven't worn for over a decade (since we moved to the frozen north) and which I'd actually forgotten about. It's longer than the one in the pic so bare legs might be possible. Risky though! grin

Yikes! I've just realised I own four dresses. Might have to declutter!

Jalima1108 Sat 03-Jun-17 12:04:13

I only own three dresses and I don't like one of them. The other two I wear over a swimsuit grin

Time to declutter too.

Jalima1108 Sat 03-Jun-17 12:04:41

one at a time I should add!

stillaliveandkicking Sat 03-Jun-17 21:25:43

I can't see any orange in the dress. I wouldn't wear orange tights either, it would totally detract from the dress too.

stillaliveandkicking Sat 03-Jun-17 21:26:58

Oh the stripes. Still wouldn't wear orange tights sorry OP but I think they look awful even on 20 year olds.

Baggs Sat 03-Jun-17 21:30:02

Friend gave me these tights: perfect match for the orange in the dress.

Elrel Sat 03-Jun-17 21:37:31

Go for it, Baggs!

rosesarered Sat 03-Jun-17 21:38:40 bright orange legs look good? Like all things, wear them if you want to, only you know how you will but you're a braver man than me, Gunga Din!

cornergran Sat 03-Jun-17 21:44:11

Putnthe dress and tights on together with your shoes. If you feel happy in them then go for it. It doesn't matter what others think as long as you are happy and feel good.

baubles Sat 03-Jun-17 22:02:22

You would totally rock that look Baggs!

Yoofspeak for you could carry it off. grin
