I was thinking recently about my favourite heart-throbs over the decades.
Also which actors/celebrities actually turned me off !
My heartthrobs are :
George Clooney (just think of the Nespresso ad!)
Aidan Turner (imagine Poldark)
Tom Hiddleston (remember The Night Manager)

My absolute turn off would be ... Arnold Swarznegger
So come on GN's ....three hearthrobs and one turn off.

I think, for me, it is definitely a case of the eyes do (or don't ) have it ... My mother used to say 'The eyes are the windows of the soul.'

Well, that and a nice toned bottom doesn't pass my notice either grin.

Imperfect, his eyes certaintly have a twinkle ?

Imperfect27 Wed 13-Sept-17 09:39:53

Annie - sartorial elegance, depth of intelligence and a sharp wit ... all that and a kindly twinkle too. I hadn't thought of John Humphries - but he has all the right ingredients for me grin and I do like a man in a suit and tie!

sue01 Wed 13-Sept-17 09:37:12

Turn ons. Sean Bean. Oliver Reed. Erroll Flynn. Pierce Brosnan.

Turn offs. Daniel Craig.

Anniebach Wed 13-Sept-17 09:16:34

I do have a thing for John Humphries,

DanniRae Wed 13-Sept-17 09:15:15

It's really strange because I didn't even realise that I didn't like Jeremy Vine until people mentioned him on here.
He's way too pleased with himself I feel!

Petra - you me and my sister Kate - that's three of us - might there be more? Dare I say it - could we be the start of an anti Jeremy club? Not to do him any harm but just to put him in his place say - back in reception ?? Or am I just evil??

Where has Jings gone??? I'm fairly sure she would be willing to join us,

MissAdventure Tue 12-Sept-17 23:11:14

I'm off to Google Lord M. He's had too many mentions not to.

MissAdventure Tue 12-Sept-17 23:08:20

I think Ray Winston is my ultimate pin up!

petra Tue 12-Sept-17 23:07:40

Oh good. I've just seen somebody else can't stand Jeramy Vine, I thought I was alone.

petra Tue 12-Sept-17 23:05:52

I live with a Ray Winstone lookalike so that's that one.
Steve McQueen, always.
David Gandy ( male model)
Lord M
Too many turn offs to mention.

Jomarie Tue 12-Sept-17 23:00:10

Just remembered :

Robert Shaw (he was in lots of films including Jaws I believe - plus played German soldiers frequently because of his blond hair blue eyes and gorgeous figure) he was a good actor to boot !!!

Also one more for the dislike list
Ricky Tomlinson

I'm done now -and will go to bed happy to have got this off my chest,,,,, grin

Jomarie Tue 12-Sept-17 22:46:25

Turn ons - back in the day

Richard Chamberlain (Dr Kildare)
Robert somebody or other played Henry VIII (gorgeous eyes) - can't remember his surname but can see his face and figure - it will come to me (probably at 3 am)
Albert Finney
Donovan
Paul Newman
Steve McQueen

Even older - Clark Gable !!

More recently:
Robbie Williams (I don't understand it either!!)

Dislikes:
So many - Jeremy Vine
Jeremy Clarkson
Jonathan Ross
Ray Winston

This list is fairly endless but those are my top ones to date

Interesting post - it certainly shows up the age range of the Grans !!!

MissAdventure Tue 12-Sept-17 22:46:04

Yep. I've always liked men that make me laugh, even if I end up laughing on the other side of my face. (Another mum saying!)

Chewbacca Tue 12-Sept-17 22:33:11

Really MissAdventure? I used to quite fancy Pierce Brosnan but for the life of me can't think why now. blush

MissAdventure Tue 12-Sept-17 22:28:23

I used to rather fancy Tony Slattery blush
