Heartthrobs and Turn-offs

I was thinking recently about my favourite heart-throbs over the decades.
Also which actors/celebrities actually turned me off !
My heartthrobs are :
George Clooney (just think of the Nespresso ad!)
Aidan Turner (imagine Poldark)
Tom Hiddleston (remember The Night Manager)

My absolute turn off would be ... Arnold Swarznegger
So come on GN's ....three hearthrobs and one turn off.

merlotgran I bought a picture in a frame similar to this, but in black and white, from Woolworths. I wanted Robert Fuller but they never had photos of him so Horton had to do. A friend gave me a poster of Ty Hardin who was Bronco Lane. I never fancied his face but I think that's when I developed a 'thing' about men in jeans .... well young men with good bums and legs anyway! wink

Robert Horton aka Flint McCullough

Oh Richard Hammond (the small one?) is on my 'turn off' list. Too tiny.

Treebee Sun 24-Sep-17 22:27:14

Turn ons:
Paul McCartney (still!)
Jean-Christophe Novelli
Richard Armitage

Turn off:
Rod Stewart (shudder)

I didn't watch Wagon Train, but I remember fancying Pete Duel in Alias Smith & Jones. I was very upset when he committed suicide.
My first crush was Englebert Humperdinck, I still know all the words to "Release Me". Don't fancy him any more though.
Robert Mitchum - that butt chin!

Apart from Donald Trump, who turns me off on many different levels, I can't think of any man who turns me off. Russell Brand is a reformed character, who has kicked his addictions. I give him huge credit for that. Most of the comedians mentioned make me laugh, which I find sexy. I had the privilege of meeting the old Top Gear team and of the 3, I found Jeremy Clarkson the nicest. Richard Hammond was totally up himself & James May was more than a little odd.

Wouldn't have kicked anyone of 'em out callgirl! Except Hoss, maybe. not that I'don't got a cat in Hells chance anyway! grin

callgirl1 Tue 19-Sep-17 22:03:02

Which one? Personally, I quite fancied Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts didn`t really do it for me. I liked the father and the youngest son, Little Joe.

Chewbacca Tue 19-Sep-17 18:07:25

You're right callgirl! But he was still a dish!grin

callgirl1 Tue 19-Sep-17 17:26:01

Chewbacca, sorry to be pernickety, but Lorne Greene was Ben Cartwright, Pernell Roberts was the eldest son, Adam.

Kim0612 Tue 19-Sep-17 10:57:07

Richard Gere
Tom Cruise - I think

Turn offs:

Thanks callgirl we didn't have a tv until I was a teenager, so have missed quite a lot it seems!

Chewbacca Tue 19-Sep-17 00:22:13

Pernell Roberts (Ben Cartwright in Bonanza) was rather good looking, back in the day.

callgirl1 Tue 19-Sep-17 00:16:08

Lemongrove, he was Flint McCulloch in Wagon Train, and yes, he was lovely!
Sabu was known as Elephant Boy. He was quite cute.

lemongrove Mon 18-Sep-17 22:39:31

Robert Horton? Another I don't know about.?

merlotgran Mon 18-Sep-17 22:08:49

Turn offs: Russell Brand, Noel Edmonds and the bloke who presents the afternoon quiz show, Babushka. He's really creepy.

Heart throbs: Robert Horton, Paul Newman, Alan Alda and Rufus Sewell

lemongrove Mon 18-Sep-17 21:16:49

Russell Brand and Jeremy Vine feature heavily in our turn offs ( hope they don't read GN)
Never heard of quite a few heart throbs mentioned, Sabu?
Tommy Kirk? Jerry Orbach?Richard Armitage?Cillian Murphy? Must go and google them.

Tegan2 Mon 18-Sep-17 20:49:09

.....it was Tommy Kirk....

Tegan2 Mon 18-Sep-17 20:47:14

Granny in my pocket; the Korda Jungle Book with Sabu is still one of my favourite films. Yes, he was quite beautiful, wasn't he! I also, at that time had a crush on a young actor who used to be in a lot of Walt Disney films with Kevin Corcoran; I've forgotten his name. Sadly, he had a lot of problems because he was gay at a time when it wasn't the done thing in Hollywood.

TwiceAsNice Mon 18-Sep-17 18:27:26

Oh and Idris Elba is gorgeous how could I have forgotten him!

TwiceAsNice Mon 18-Sep-17 18:26:20

Oh yes Rowdy Yates, the young Clint Eastwood, my all time favourite,
especially in the spaghetti westerns, it was the jeans and the poncho! Ooh that man! I'm going to run the cold water tap on me wrists!

BBbevan Sun 17-Sep-17 10:21:29

A teacher who taudgt etching at art school ( I still dream about him) Sadly dead now
