Just joined simply because it looks worthwhile! I am 65 in December, married, with grandaughter and two grandsons, 11, 3 and under a year respectively.
Open to any questions you may have!

hi Stree do you like trees by any chance ?

stree Fri 28-Sep-18 16:42:07

We live in North Lincs, semi rural, cottage, moved from Leeds in 2007......Very peaceful here, just a church, Pub, village hall and pond and about 250 houses......
My wife is a retired english teacher and have done all sorts....
Yes, I do like trees garden is full of them, in fact the village is, but that has nothing to do with my nickname...........The way that came about is because I was really stuck deciding a nickname for my first ever web-chat/forum, ( circa 1998)
so I just closed my eyes and flcked my fingers over the keyboard. and the result was stree

stree Fri 28-Sep-18 16:44:19

Meant to say, "and I- have done all sorts"

Anniebach Fri 28-Sep-18 16:50:42

Still not a Welshman ?, I will keep hopeful .

Your village sounds lovely stree ,

I can only see a map of Europe ( thankfully) as I don’t think it’s a good idea to identify your house or even area stree, this is a VERY public site

stree Fri 28-Sep-18 17:37:42

Point taken.Thanks........A few more modest pics then.. The village pond, the back road and a tree in the Vicarage garden

Welcome - glad you've joined.
We need more Grandads on here to give a balance.

Welcome Stree. The middle pic is typical Lincolnshire, a daft pheasant walking across the road, only to fly when it reaches the other side! I`m in Lincolnshire as well, Boston.

MiniMoon Fri 28-Sep-18 18:07:24

Welcome stree, my DS went to Lincoln University, the only other part of Lincolnshire I've visited is Cleethorpes. I live in Northumberland.

Anniebach Fri 28-Sep-18 18:11:48

My younger daughter lives in Lincolnshire

gillybob Fri 28-Sep-18 18:18:29

Welcome Stree I’m in Tyneside but my late parents in law lived in Lincolnshire in a little village between Louth and Mablethorpe . smile

Grannyknot Fri 28-Sep-18 18:37:50

I saw your village from the link you posted Stree because I cut and pasted the entire link (not because I'm nosy about where you live, but because I was curious as to whether that was why the link didn't work).

Will check out the photos now smile

Bellanonna Fri 28-Sep-18 19:28:22

It looks idyllic Stree. I remember Lincs having lots of lovely old churches. Welcome to Gransnet!

Bathsheba Fri 28-Sep-18 19:49:48

Welcome Stree. So glad you're here - we need more males on GN!
I did what Grannyknot did and saw your street and house - again not because I was being nosy, but because I wanted to see if the link worked if used in its entirety. Given that it does, you might want to think about asking GNHQ to delete that particular post because as has been said, this is a very public site. The easiest way to do this is to use the 'Report' feature at the top of the post and explain in the box provided.
And yes, it does look a beautiful spot from your pictures!

cornergran Fri 28-Sep-18 20:07:46

Hello stree, good to meet you. Agree with bathsheba, this is a very public site, GNHQ will remove that post and link if you ask them.

Lincolnshire has some lovely areas, my eldest daughter lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds and the youngest in not so scenic Grimsby. Welcome Stree.
