What have you eaten today?

It was overly lush GabriellaG - hence my walk of shame. And mabon1 you are probably right - compared to most posters on here it seems I am a greedy guts.
A much more measured (and alcohol free) day today.
Still, I did have a great day yesterday enjoying it all ... ?

My breakfast was similar to Gabriella's. Need a bit of fuel for some outdoor jobs and dog walking.

Lunch will be braised chicken breast with root vegetables and cabbage, one roast potato and a No pudding but I might have a yoghurt at teatime.

GF crumpets with marmite for supper and a couple more glasses of wine while watching telly.

Willow there are usually leeks in our local Tesco - I made some leek and potato soup last week.
DH likes his blended, I like leek and potato soup chunky.

We’ve got loads of leeks in our allotment, Willow. I’ll wheel some over.

Maybe mabon’s just joking, Nannylovesshopping? Or maybe not.

I’m just glad to see some of the latest contributors are gourmets (greedy guts) like me.

Your advice is spot on Gabriella. I wish I could get into some sort of decent pattern regarding food.

Greyduster - where did you find leeks? I've been hankering after homemade leek and potato soup - bought the potatoes but couldn't find any leeks for love nor money!

Nine if that is properly filling.
Try having a bowl of oatmeal or granola, sliced banana and blueberries to start your day or avocado on sourdough with 2 poached eggs.
Root mash and greens with your fish at lunchtime and an oatcake with peanut butter mid afternoon.
Baked potato in the evening with tuna mayo or beans or quiche, pasta etc.
You need carbs in moderation to make you feel sated.
Sugary stuff will just give you a temporary spike which will cause you to want another one and another....
without actually filling you up.
These are only patterns I follow as I have no qualifications in nutrition to be able to advise.

Oooh my mouth is watering EllenVannin I love crumpets and can't get them here, lashings of butter - yummy. I have ordered some in my Christmas parcel.
I have just had home made onion soup and 2 satsumas for lunch, ok then I also sinned and had some crisps.

Same as every day for the last four years, porridge for breakfast and very soft jacket potato for my evening meal

I fear another bottomless pit day - it's only 11.20

Have friends coming for lunch, all big eaters and drinkers however I've already done a 90 minute walk so that should cancel out a glass or two of wine

Forgot to add, we did walk almost 13,000 steps yesterday.

It's so interesting to see exactly what others eat in a day. I'm beginning to realise why I'm a stone over weight...

F'r instance, yesterday, porridge with raspberries and blueberries for breakfast, a couple of cups of tea and a satsuma; lunch at a local pub with visiting niece and gt nephew comprised a chicken fajitas sizzler, no pud..yet. Then at a coffee shop that afternoon, a blackberry crumble slice thing with another cuppa.

Later that evening, TWO pieces of the too-delish Aldi Christmas cake bar and a cheese sandwich on wholemeal (one slice only though). I think it's the evenings that are my downfall.

Today so far, two cups of tea and a satsuma.

With all the healthy and moderate eating described above for yesterday, I’d better do my walk of shame out here in Malaga!

I had:
2 cups of tea
2 slices crusty bread, toasted with plenty of butter and raspberry jam.
A banana.
Mug of coffee.
Off on the train to spend Saturday afternoon in a very popular plaza where I had:
A tanqueray gin & tonic.
Half a bottle of Rioja with tapas of fat chips & mayo, pork fillet & Brie with warm red cabbage on tostado and some chicken on a skewer with crusty bread.
Back home on the train to stop off at a local bar - happily and unplanned joining friends, for 2 more glasses of Rioja (hmm) and a platter of barbecue meats to share - chicken wings, belly pork, liver pieces on skewers (a local specialty I’ve never had before - gorgeous!) and more bread.
Got home 8pm
Had a mug of Green & Black’s hot chocolate with a wedge of date and walnut cake baked by a friend that morning.

Oh well. I enjoyed it all.

Good grief, I hardly eat that much in a week!

Gosh, there are some healthy food plans here! I started off well, just porridge for breakfast, but it was downhill from there...
Lunch: 2 slices toast with salmon pateand a satsuma
3 chocolates, 2 rich tea biscuits
1 buttered cracker
Dinner; Fishcake and potato wedges followed by stewed fruit with custard
Snack to finish the last little bit of ice cream (with posh wafers)

I’m dreadful for snacking, especially in the evenings. I do try not to, but often fail miserably!

Yesterday:
No breakfast, just a cup of tea.
Lunch of tomato soup (can),
Cheese toastie,
One and a half chocolate digestived and a cup of tea.
Dinner out with friends at a push pub.
Roasted celeriac soup with home baked bread and butter,
Stuffed turkey, herb and parmesan gnocchi,
sprouts, celeriac puree, picked cranberies, parsnips. (2 or 3 of each)
Sticky toffee pudding and one scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ginger beer, and glass of water.

It was all beautifully presented. The first time we'd been since it was modernised and extended.

Yesterday :
2 sausages 2 hashbrowns fried egg and beans. Apple juice and a cuppa
Bag of crisps and a coffee.
Chinese takeaway and blackcurrant squash.
So far today:
Blueberry wheats. Actimel and a cuppa.
Later we will have chicken tray bake and jacket spud.

Yesterday as well as my usual mountain usual amount. I ate a whole chocolate orange. I'm just getting ready for a long walk !
