I'm in a 'bottomless pit' mode today - just can't eat enough!

So far I've had:

2 fried eggs, tomatoes, avocado, 2 coffees
Sea bass fillets, red cabbage & salad, 2 glasses of wine
3 slices of bacon, brown sauce, on a buttered brioche bun
1 mini Magnum

I'm still hungry!

In no particular order:
A tuna melt panini.
Shepherd’s pie with carrots and sprouts.
4 plums, 2 apples, 1 pear.
Two slices of cake, one mince pie (well, it is nearly Christmas smile).
I’m off to get a g & t now, as tomorrow’s a fast day. sad

Why just 400 calories, Framilode? I find 500 hard enough.

Pythagorus Thu 06-Dec-18 21:32:14

Snack small bar chocolate

Supper, pita bread filled with egg and tomato, satsuma

Like Bigcol my breakfast is expensive blush but's it's my favourite meal so £4 seems OK to me!

At home I have various combinations of eggs, smoked salmon, avocados, tomatoes, anchovies, coffee, etc. Can't be doing with cereals & fruit.

If breakfasting out I indulge in things like Omelette Arnold Bennett smile

varian Thu 06-Dec-18 13:22:58

For the price of one breakfast in a cafe you could probably buy a week's breakfasts at home. Going out for breakfast seems the height of extravagence. Even if I were a millionaire I wouldn't do it.

I can't get my head in gear until I've had my breakfast, which is almost always two mugs of tea, skimmed milk, no sugar, made in a teapot with leaf tea, plus one and a half slices of toast made with Lidl's wholemeal seedy farmhouse loaf, butter and half a banana. DH has the same but has margarine on his toast. Now and then I have a boiled egg instead of the banana.

janeainsworth Thu 06-Dec-18 13:11:48

I was going to make a similar point jalima. I think my standard breakfast of oats, milk, yoghurt, prunes and a sprinkling of seeds with a glass of orange juice probably costs about 45p.
But perhaps Col likes the company in Sainsbury's.

Jalima1108 Thu 06-Dec-18 12:22:37

but at least in Sainsbury's I suppose you can sit and read all the papers!

Jalima1108 Thu 06-Dec-18 12:21:40

hmm bigcol1 you could probably get a pack of bagels, a box of eggs and milk for milky coffee for £4 and have that for breakfast every morning.

bigcol1 Thu 06-Dec-18 11:23:30

I am on a budget and have had to cut down a lot as I am on benefits, so on days when I go to my over 50's, I tend to eat their biscuits and that's my breakfast. On other days when I'm not attending any over 50's I admit I do go out and have some breakfast, but its only cheap really. I go to the local sainsburys which has a café as well and I have a scrambled egg on toast and a large latte. It used to be beigels (I always say Beigels not bagels. bagels is an americnaism. beigels is the original jewish word before it got bastardized by the yanks) but they don't do they anymore. It isn't v dear either. It only costs just over 4 quid for both of them. Sometimes I wish I could afford more, but when you are on benefits you have to budget a hwell of a lot - BIG COL

Maggiemaybe Thu 06-Dec-18 10:14:05

I was reorganising my chest freezer yesterday and found a box of leftover birthday cake (leftover from nearly 18 months ago so I daren’t offer it to anyone else).

Guess what I’ve had for breakfast? blush

merlotgran Thu 06-Dec-18 09:27:29

Defrosting the fridge freezer today so breakfast was a banana, blueberries and Greek yoghurt. What we have to eat after that is anyone's guess. grin

glammagran Thu 06-Dec-18 08:25:41

Coincidentally, we also had spaghetti matriciana yesterday.

Pythagorus Thu 06-Dec-18 06:32:30
