Just curious here. What time do we all go to bed and get up?
Mostly, I go to bed around 10pm ish and get up without an alarm around 7:45am most mornings. Perfect for me. Maybe once to the bathroom during the night.
Then I read in the news recently that more than 9 hours isn’t a good thing.

Go with Nature. Research confuses. We are told to not sleep/take a short nap only during the day etc etc. Go to bed when you're tired. Get up when you wake up & stop worrying. Your sleep pattern will gradually regulate itself.
Get outdoors as much as you can, exercise regularly, eat the right foods, socialise if it's your thing, take rest. Balance is the name of the game.?

Hate going to bed and hate getting up! Usually sleep like a log when I get there. Sometimes need to go to bathroom during the night but always go straight back to sleep again. Tend to think about going to bed about midnight and finally get there shortly before 2am. Sometimes I don't actually go to sleep till nearer 3am. Alarm usually set for 8am but like 20-30mins before getting up. Need a second alarm in case I fall back to sleep! Am capable of getting up in the middle of the night to collect or take family to station for holiday flights! Occasionally have a short zizz in afternoon or early evening and get a second wind!
Crazy, or what?!

I go to bed around 10pm an read for an hour. No screens after ten is the rule. I used to be a terrible insomniac till I went GF five years ago. It's much better now but I still get the occasional night when I'm unable to get to sleep. Have to get up to wee some nights, more now we are drinking more water, as advised. Alarm goes off at 6.45 am and husband gets up and brings me a mug of tea. But lately I've been waking at 6 and unable to get back to sleep. I did this morning though, for an extra hour. Happy Christmas Eve!

It is usual for me now to be asleep by 8pm.

Well, I guess I must be quite a good sleeper unless throw caution to the wind and carry on drinking coffee after mid-day. However, having my gchildren living with me my sleep pattern is mainly determined by their routine : so crawl to bed around 10 -11 then up around 6 and back to bed for a gorgeous half hour with tea. Since schools in Germany start at 7.45 am and no hot lunch so sandwiches need to be prepared etc and kids off around 7.20. But then Weekends are a bliss !

Between 12 and 1 am usually. I generally get up between 7.30 and 8.30, occasionally earlier or later.

I go to bed between 10.30 and 11.30 and waken about 7.30, with usually one trip to the loo. DH is a night owl so sometimes I stay up to watch a film with him but it needs to be really engaging to keep me from heading off to bed.

Coolgran
I sympathise with the Restless Legs problem. Years ago I would be up half the night and had work and 2 boys and an ailing aunt to cope with. Went to a Neurologist re migraines and as I was about to leave he asked me how I sleep. Told him my woes and he suggested Ropinerole tablets. Didnt fancy taking drugs but after a few months I tried it and it worked wonders - dare not be without them now!

I always wear bedsocks, winter or summer but bare feet when I get up. Wearing them has no effect on my sleep patterns as I'd sleep just as well in bare feet. I buy in bulk wink from Primark. grin

Smurf52 are you getting any counselling? I am told it can help.
Sending love xxx

JaneAinsworth
They're available on eBay (new or 'pre-owned' and, after I bought mine from TWC, I found that Collingwood Batchellor in Horsham and their other stores, were selling them for £49 in matt grey, white, red or green. angry

I go to bed at around 9 ish. In always so tired. I also wake several times i think this is an age thing. I wake up about 8

Urmstongran Sun 23-Dec-18 22:24:41

Gosh we are all SO different aren’t we? Sometimes for tragic reasons (Smurf52 now, and MissAdventure similar at some time too) and others who are nursing sick partners. ? to all who suffer from lack of sleep owing to sad family circumstances.
Actually, I read recently that wearing socks at night helps poor sleepers (something to do with warming extremities and core body temperature). Have any of you tried doing that? Worth a go if not - good luck!

I'm a great believer in listening to your body. Go to bed without blue light and fall asleep when ready. When you wake up, take 10 - 15 minutes slowly mindful of where you are then get up. For some that's 6 hours, for others it may be 9. But I believe if you sleep longer it's because you need to.

Lilylilo Sun 23-Dec-18 21:59:03

In bed generally by 10 awake 6ish. Solid sleep mostly.

Bijou Sun 23-Dec-18 21:44:06

I go to bed about 1 am after watching a film or doing a crossword and go straight to sleep. Have get up once to go to the loo but go straight back to sleep until seven. If I stay in bed too long my arthritic knees seize up. Sometimes have an afternoon nap.

hollie57 Sun 23-Dec-18 21:21:15

I know the feeling bl———y nightmare .oh for a good nights sleep.x??

janeainsworth Sun 23-Dec-18 21:11:36

Thank you Gabriella ?
That looks very handy. Certainly more capacious than my bedside table which is too cluttered with books to hold more than my early morning cup of tea!

GabriellaG54 Sun 23-Dec-18 20:42:31

gringrin Oh dear! Haha, no butler here nor would I want one but a butler's tray is a large rectangular one with a deep sides and handles (or cut outs in the sides) which comes with separate folding legs, so it can go by your bed or chair.
The brazils are chocolate coated brazil nuts (confectionary aisle in most supermarkets) about £1-£1.20 per box.
Image is from Pinterest.
Mine is same size/colour from The White Company. grin

Barmeyoldbat Sun 23-Dec-18 20:21:43

Go to bed around 10 and most nights fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow and thats it until about 8 or 8.30. I have a medical condition that makes me tired and I have periods of pure exhaustion and this is when I just fall into bed at about 8 in the evening and sleep like the dead until gone 9.

MissAdventure Sun 23-Dec-18 20:19:47

Smurf, I was exactly the same.
I virtually lived in my bed for months. Only got out to do the absolute minimum then climbed straight back in.

MawBroon Sun 23-Dec-18 20:09:00

I sleep a lot. Usually in bed by 11 or much much earlier if it's a Saturday Strictly evening when I will prepare a butler's tray with a snack, cold drink, crisps and chocolate coated Brazil's and watch tv from bed

How considerate to think of the staff.
The butler at any rate.
Brazil’s what?

Nanna58 Sun 23-Dec-18 20:03:49

Smurf52, ? my love to you

Nanna58 Sun 23-Dec-18 20:02:07

Bed about 11 30pm, toss and turn until about 1 30 am when I need the loo, then , toss and turn again, then fall asleep about 3pm. Nightmare! ???

EllanVannin Sun 23-Dec-18 19:16:59
