Do "star charts" work?

Evening all, an usual good wishes.

I am wondering whether to introduce a star chart, but am unsure as to how effective it might be.

The goals are not too taxing, mainly things like clearing toys away, ditto with clothes, and general tidying up behind you, rather than leaving things strewn about, not sploshing too much water in the bathroom etc.

If I did introduce a star chart, what might I use as an incentive once the set number of stars had been achieved?

BTW, he is sixty three and a half.

Depends on the incentive you choose!😜

I had to read the last part again (the age)! I'd assumed it was about a grandchild grin. Extra playtime!! That made me laugh.

Nico97 Tue 05-Feb-19 21:06:54

I'd happily settle for the homemade steak pie grin

Phoenix I thought you were about to become our resident astrologer. I’m Libra by the way, we’ll balanced but a bit self indulgent.

Jalima1108 Tue 05-Feb-19 22:51:18

Oh phoenix!
what a laugh that has given me!!

He's not a Taurean is he - if so, gold stars won't work, Taureans are very stubborn.

phoenix Wed 06-Feb-19 01:08:21

No Jalima, he's a Scorpio, and he can keep his sting to himself!

phoenix knowing your sense of humour, I guessed you meant Mr. P

His favourite meal and a good bottle of wine.

I'm not understanding this "play time" idea confused

I love this kind of thread! So nice to have a laugh first thing in the morning.

kittylester Wed 06-Feb-19 07:48:14

Let's hope g1943 doesn't see this thread.

I'd be interested in the results, phoenix.

Btw, I'm Capricorn and he is Leo!! shock

Well if the norty step didn't work Phoenix you have to try something else. That made me smile and a change from mother in law problems.
Play time sounds interesting as long as its nothing too energetic grin

Auntieflo Wed 06-Feb-19 09:43:00

Phoenix thanks for giving me a good start to Wed. Like NanKate, I thought this was about astrology , sorry, a bit slow in the uptake here.
Carry on now.

But reading about water sloshing around gave me an idea to start one. We even have some sticky stars somewhere!

mcem Wed 06-Feb-19 09:50:30

Surely what happens on the Norty step stays on the Norty step? By the way, Scorpio is the sign of passion!wink

GrannyGravy13 Wed 06-Feb-19 10:40:21

Mr GG13 is a Sagittarius, I await results of the "star reward chart", since retirement he certainly needs some motivation!!

BradfordLass72 Thu 07-Feb-19 02:52:35

One of my sons is a Scorpio and a more stubborn and contrary individual you could not find. Of course I'm a perfect Aquarian grin

For MrP:
1. Take his toys away.
2. Sew him into his clothing like the Mormons do (or did) 3. Introduce bed baths by the brawniest nurse you can find. Although on reflection, he might enjoy that too much.

4. Star chart, yes but in reverse order. Start with 20 and he has to be good to take away a star.
Each star represents a laxative, easily hidden these days in puddings and sweet tea or coffee.

Well, Aquarians are inventive! grin

I thought this thread was about horoscopes!

dragonfly46 Thu 07-Feb-19 07:33:44

How about a 🍷 or 🍺 chart!

Iam64 Thu 07-Feb-19 08:12:30

phoenix - thanks for making us all laugh
By the way I share my life with a Scorpio and other than occasionally feeling slightly irritated as I trip over yet another 'hobby', I leave him to it. Star charts have a short shelf life !

kittylester Thu 07-Feb-19 09:43:07

Iam, I was going to say that.

A classic phoenix thread.
