I believe it's a scam. Have you tried Googling about them? I will also suggest you to look up the numbers on complaint boards like whycall.me and see if people have reported the number there.

Definitely sounds like a scam to me, kitty if the cheque was actually handed over, pound to a penny it wouldn't have cleared!

Kitty I did wonder if you weren't telling us something. grin

No, EllanAnnin they were bringing the cheque round in exchange for the Amazon voucher!!

And we didnt have a new birth bath it was a flipping birdbath!

PPI is no longer running since the end of August, only those which are still being processed since claims began. I must warn my D who is still awaiting her 2 or 3 claims.

It's a scam because they'll ask for details to " deposit the cheque ".

Haven't had this one, but did get a dodgy-looking e-mail this morning, about a holiday booking. Have moved it to Spam for the time being.
I'm waiting to see if anyone else mentions it.

It was really weird. They didnt want any personal details just a £50 Amazon voucher to be handed to the chap who arrived with the cheque at 1pm today.

The man then rang twice to check whether we had the voucher or not.

Meanwhile, I contacted Action Fraud who said it was a con used quite often.

DH told the man on the phone to go away but then the doorbell rang at 1.15!! shock

Luckily it was the new birthbath!! grin

Phishingi expect kitty

I would not answer them that should be.

vena11 Wed 13-Nov-19 11:28:52

They need your permission to claim so I would say it was a scam, if you answer them they will probably ask for bank details. I would don't answer them.

DH has just had a phone call from the above saying the company has managed to reclaim PPI to the value £1,750 for us.

We are assuming it is a scam - has anyone else been approached by them?
