Mine is in a glass jar and yes, I always remember my mum's face cream coming in a glass jar.

I remember as I am really old. There was a sort of thin sort of aluminium stuff . This was used for e.g. Gibbs dentifrice, , and Quickies face cleaners. There was also a thin version of celluloid which was rather nice to handle. There was glass.

Celluloid was an early form of plastic and so was Bakelite.

Using my Aldi moisturiser this morning, which comes in a little plastic pot, I started wondering how things like that were sold before plastic became so prevalent. Was it in glass jars? Could they be refilled? What about things like shampoo, eye shadow etc.
If companies are going to reduce the use of plastic, will they go back to what was used before?
Just wondering if anyone knows what was used before plastic?
