Did you ever have "one of those days?"

Getting carried away didn't do me any favours. My hands were cold so when I got back to the car I decided to wear the new gloves. I had some teeny tiny nail scissors (the sort that fold up) in my handbag so I snipped the piece of plastic that joins the gloves.

Only problem was I also snipped the end of my finger! I was sitting down and blood dripped all over the knees of the jeans I was wearing so, after using all the tissues I could find to stem the flow, I dashed into Wilkinsons to buy plasters then off to the public loos to change into my new jeans so I could look presentable in Waitrose.

It was only the tiniest of cuts and by the time I got back to the car again it had stopped bleeding. angry

Definitely one of those days. hmm

Merlot ?.
I often get ‘one of those days’ when I trip over something which isn’t there, drop everything, miss the carrot and chop into my finger, drive to the post office - without the parcel, can’t settle to anything and feel generally that I should write the day off!
On the up side, yesterday in Next I asked the assistant the price of the canned water drinks on the counter and was told they were free - so she gave me 2!
As for people chatting/stopping in inconvenient places, the top of an escalator is the worst ?

Merlot, now that’s what I call an accomplished shopper. Well done!

Dunno about one of those days but I'm sitting here wondering why, when I only popped into town for a few bits and pieces, I came home with a pair of jeans, a pair of pyjamas, slippers, gloves, a frying pan, a cushion, two pillows and a loo seat. hmm

So much for my economy drive.

Is there anywhere to chat in a supermarket which is NOT in people's way? They are not designed for stationary chatting but selling, buying and moving on.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Enjoy the Spring flowers.

We all have one of those days sometimes, don't we? When nothing seems to go right. I'm a bit despondent at the moment but am trying to keep busy. The thought of going back to bed and burying myself under the bedclothes is quite overwhelming just now but I mustn't succumb to it.

MawB apparently Pret do that all over the country, so many a day, I was lucky recipient once, was with my son in London, who remarked, must be for people who look as if they could do with a freebie, I know I wasn’t dressed up but didn’t think I looked that bad? as for blagging free lunch at the Ivy, I find the portions so small there!

I find that some days I can be very tolerant and other days the simplest thing annoys me.

If people are chatting in front of a shelf I need to get to I give them a slight nudge with my trolley, while I innocently look the other ways. It always works. I haven’t noticed anyone being smelly though, and I have a good sense of smell.

Just been to the supermarket with OH. We are both of the opinion now that we are invisible as both of us were run into by other peoples trolleys! Also, why is it that when two or more people who want to stand and have a natter HAVE to stand in everyone's way!? I must also have a very sensitive sense of smell today because I have encountered some real stinkers! That makes me want to direct them to the toiletry and laundry aisle!
